Beat up, but have never seen another T206 that is missing the factory designation overstrike on back.

Default Bob Groom had a hum drum 119-150 record across 10 MLB seasons . . .

. . . but managed to post several noteworthy accomplishments, both good and not so good. In 1917, while pitching for the St. Louis Browns, he no-hit the White Sox (eventual 1917 WS champions) in the second game of a doubleheader after having thrown two hitless innings earlier during the first game. The day before, his teammate Ernie Koob had no-hit the White Sox. Koob and Groom remain the only teammates to throw no-hitters on consecutive days. As a rookie in 1909, Groom had 19 consecutive losses, which is still a record only once equaled.

Default Dolly Gray was not a very good MLB pitcher . . .

. . . as can be seen in the won-lost record for his three MLB seasons: 5-19, 8-19, and 2-13. Along the way he set the record for most walks in an inning (8) and most consecutive walks in an inning (7). However, on April 12, 1911 he threw the first pitch in Griffith Stadium history and got the win that day over Smoky Joe Wood. Surprisingly, before joining the Senators in 1909 at the age of 30, he had enough success that he is a member of the Pacific Coast League Hall of Fame.

Michael, that Proof is beast. I need one of those someday.

I found another two commons in my collection, so I can play today and tmrw (I would have a third - a McQuillen with bat, Brown Lenox, but I cant post it bc Michael already posted his & what are the odds there are two and they can both be posted in the same thread?!)

Thanks, Ryan (on the Proof).

What the heck, you should post your McQuillan Brown Lenox anyway!

(The commons you've posted are beast also!)

Not quite as colorful as his pitching pose, but still quite pretty if you ask me...

Default Wid Conroy was a consummate utility man . . .

. . . playing every infield and outfield position in an 11-year MLB career. He was the first-string SS on the NL champion Pittsburgh Pirates in 1902. He moved to 3B in 1903 with the New York Highlanders, twice leading AL third basemen in total chances per game. He was an opening day starter for the Highlanders for the first five years of the teams existance. In 1907 he swiped 41 bases second only to Ty Cobb. He finished his career (and provided two T206 poses) with Washington and in one of his last games set an AL record with 13 total chances at 3B.

Always thought it odd that Devlin only has one card. Full time 3B for Giants, that many considered the best 3B of the time.

Default Bob Unglaub's MLB career was short, as was his life, . . .

. . . but he did manage to have a few noteworthy moments. He attended The University of Maryland, for example, and signed with the New York Highlanders. He was traded for Patsy Dougherty and, during his first year as a regular player for the Boston Red Sox, he became their manager. He played the second half of the 1908 season for Washington and posted an OPS+ of 139. Five years after leaving MLB, he was supervising repair work on a locomotive when he was killed in an industrial accident. He was 35.

Turkey Mike taking a load off. This card has a back scratch print line on back.

And look at his hands! Awhile back someone pointed out how huge his hands appear, and now my eyes zero in on them.

Default That Bill Shipke played MLB for parts of four seasons . . .

. . . is about the only noteworthy observation that can be made regarding his career. He played 3B and proved that even in the dead ball era playing for Washington you couldn't last long hitting below .200. He had a little speed, which allowed him to accumulate a career WAR of 2.1 despite an OBP of .280.

Clark(e), Columbus

My Monster is filled with backstamps , so I thought this one fit the criteria.

played 5 seasons in the majors for the Colonels, Cardinals, Naps, and Rustlers, brother of Fred Clarke - I didn't realize that till I looked up some info to post about him in this thread. It seems his name was misspelled on the t206

By my count we are now up to 137 different posted. Post #88 includes a list of all the Non-HOF/Non-SL cards in the set, and an indication if they have been posted or not.
