Default Stumbled on sports card you tube video

https://youtu.be/bEQ5-cMSeqo

Retired now and bored so I came across this today, some parts were pretty interesting. This guys take that the basketball run up was coordinated by only a couple of people. Scary if only a couple of people can swing prices like this. He also seems to have a strong dislike of Goldin Auctions.

I guess now we know how big his bank account is, which is always helpful. Too bad he didn't share the account number.

Interesting Brian...always thought the uber-modern stuff....(lets say 1986 and newer)...is generally a bad investment at this point...people tend buy on the ceiling/potential not the current value IMO...there are way more that fail than succeed.

I must be living in a bubble. Seriously, those modern cards really sold for are are selling for the prices indicated in the video? Heck, you could own MANY vintage sets for what a PSA10 Jordan is going for.

Speaking of bubbles - is one deflating or going to pop soon? I'm still amazed that people are actually paying so much for modern shiny stuff.

That guy is basically one of the anti-pumpers of the hobby. Which is great for calling out possible problems and scammers in the industry, but this dude takes it beyond any rational level.

He bathes in negatives and personal insecurities like a pig rolls in slop. It's pretty sad.

its like short sellers.....how many share this guys perspectives on his scale...1?...how many are the opposite 200? Why worry about one lone perspecetive when there are 200 the other way and its known that some of those 200 should be far more criticized then the 1 going the other way...funny how people gang up on one opposing view (which has to face plenty of opposing views to balance it out) instead of looking at their own house...

not sure how pointing out factual sales of a card that dropped in value is so terrible when they are just facts...yeah im sure tons of cards when up in value too but there are 200 channels you can watch for that as well....

Good Stuff and some interesting things but his approach can be a little better
and what I do not understand on how he keeps saying that a select are propping up prices and that they are not changing hands.

It seems at though they aren't collecting. All they are doing is playing a game of whack-a-mole investing, with the shiny crap. Last one with it, loses. Personally, I think it's a shit show. But I am NOT saying anyone shouldn't "collect" the way they want to. As long as you're having fun and not doing anything unethical, it's all good.

No whack-a-mole for me...

Agree, what they are doing isn't true collecting, it is more akin to a stock market day trader trying to make a fast buck.
