Default What card completes your pre-war set?

The other night I was looking through my T206 checklist. As I looked through the remaining names I need to purchase I kept thinking to myself that the Fred Clarke portrait will be the last card I buy to complete my set someday (I plan on completing the 520 card set someday). I decided on this because the Fred Clarke Batting pose was the first T206 card I owned...given to me by my dad. Somehow, it seems fitting to complete my set with the other Clarke card. A kind of "bookend" closure for the set.

So, I started to wonder....do any of you have a special card from a set (doesn't have to be T206) that you are waiting to purchase as "the last card needed"? Maybe it's because of cost or rarity or, like me, for personal reasons.

What card do you hope to complete a set with (if any)?

My E95 set needs one more card to be complete. It was fairly predictable I think, since it is the most expensive card in the set (Wagner). In the last six months, there hasn't been one example in my preferred condition range to hit the market. So the alotted funds sit and earn their .10% interest

Well, a T206 Wagner and Doyle, N.Y. Nat'l would complete my T206 set.

But seriously, my Merkle subset would be complete if (when) I get a T215 Red Cross Merkle. I've seen one, so I know that it does exist.

My T210-1 set is sitting at 75/58 (77.3%).

I'm quite certain that Viola, Augusta (Violat to all you T206'ers) will be the last one. Sadly enough, I used to own 2 copies at one time years ago.

I tried collecting all the Old Judge players on Pittsburgh, getting at least one example of every player. I'm only missing Deacon White now out of the 28 players. I've even completed some Pittsburgh player runs, McKinnon, Bishop and Fields, but still need that Deacon and they aren't cheap, plus they're easier to find with him on Detroit

My collection of 1908 Cubs players lacks only a T204 Andy Coakley.

My last T201 will likely be Eddie Cicotte.

E105 Ty Cobb
One of our board members owns a gorgeous example. Hopefully my ship will come in right before he decides to sell.

I feel John's pain. I need only Gilligan w/ Detroit to complete a Detroit Old Judge run. Reason for that being my last card is scarcity.

John, if you can provide a pose I need of Deacon we could likely work out a deal to complete your run. Also let me know if you happen to come across a Gilligan w/ Detroit

Honestly, I will probably never own one just due to price, but a T205 Hoblitzell would complete my master set.

I'm not sure it's scarcity that has kept me from buying one, though technically dollar scarcity in my wallet could be called the reason. I will definitely keep you in mind if I get a Detroit one somehow. If I find a Gilligan, I'll be sure to rescue it

Default Last cards......

I need Joe Doyle (error)....and, Eddie Plank & Honus Wagner (with PIEDMONT backs) to complete my 522-card (all) PIEDMONT set.

Unfortunately, it aint gonna happen......the PIEDMONT Plank & Wagner cards are few and very seldom available.

And,
Red Cobb with SOVEREIGN 460 back was my last card to complete my 408-card (all) SOVEREIGN set.
