Question about Ebay's Non-Paying Bidder Policy

Hey all,
Just a quick question regarding ebay's non paying bidder policy.

Now the policy as I understand it, reads like this...

If you are a winning bidder and you fail to pay, the seller can report you for non payment and you can recieve a non-paying bidder warning. If the winning bidder incures three non-paying bidder warnings on his or her record they can receive an indefinite suspension.

Now my question is this:

Could the non-paying bidder receive all three of those warnings and be suspended if he or she does not pay on ONE transaction? Or do the three warnings that could lead to a suspension have to come from three SEPARATE transactions/auctions?

I have been selling things on ebay for a very short time and although I've read the policy, for some strange reason I can't quite grasp the gist of it.

If anyone on the forum has been on ebay for awhile and can offer any thoughts, it would be most appreciated.

You can prove to Ebay (if you keep meticulous records) that you paid for an item -- even if the seller claims you did not. Hard to do, but possible.

What I find amusing is this: Ebay has a three strikes and you're out policy against bidders. However, sellers have no such standard! If a seller fails to deliver an item -- the worst recompense you have is either though Paypal/your credit card company, small claims court, or a negative feedback. There are many sellers out there with dozens, if not hundreds of negative feedback -- but Ebay will do nothing against them because they generate listing and auction fees for Ebay.

If you want to see some amusing auctions, check out the seller on Ebay who is claiming to have 1957, 1958, 1963, 1965, 1968 and 1969 Topps wax boxes from sealed cases. LOL!

The only negative I ever got was a retaliatory one from a non-paying bidder. I didn't even give him a negative, just filed for my credit for a no-sale auction when the vermin weasel struck. I pointed out to ebay that he had had 5 negative non-paying feedbacks in the last month and they told me tough s##t.
Good old ebay...

I don't even bother with negative feedback anymore for non-payers because I am not willing to take the inevitable feedback hit. In my view, ebay ought to revise its feedback mechanism to bar non-payers (where ebay has issued a credit, it has admitted they are non-payers, right?) from leaving any feedback on the defaulted transaction. That way, responsible persons could leave feedbacks without taking hits from disreputable deadbeats.

FYI- This probably has little bearing on most of you, but eBay will let a high feedback person slide on their first NPB -- for instance, I was hit with an NPB several months ago--particularly bizarre since I had received the card in the mail a week earlier. I didn't have records (it was a $5 card), but I e-mailed eBay and said "I have the card! This is silly!" and got a form message back saying, "Okay, we believe you because of your high feedback and we'll cancel this one from your record."

Adam, this exactly why eBay's feedback system is a total joke. Everyone is so scared of getting a neg, that they are afraid to leave one when it is warranted. I am sure you are not the first person he has not paid for an auction, and prolly not the last. If everyone would leave negs when warranted, then these people would eventually get booted and the negs would appear with a user that was NARU.

In my experience, reataliatory negs don't happen that often I left over a dozen negs and ahve gotten 2 retaliatory negs. Big deal. I'll let my past dealings speak for themselves.
