Default New Acquisitions Thread.

Finally got my last 67 Bobby Orr card. Card #92 that arrived today.

Curious on members thoughts? Should we have a monthly new pick ups thread or just run with a New Acquisitions Thread like Adam had in the old section?

I vouch for a New Acquisitions thread, but the majority rules.

Anyways, pumped to have acquired this card.

Might as well keep it in this thread. No need to keep posting a monthly thread. Traffic in our section is not high enough to keep making new threads for pick ups.

Nice Dale, with the Orr rookie long since leaving the dock, the "67" is a great card of Bobby. As I always said, Orr was Jordan before there was a Jordan! Enjoy that card Sir.

Beautiful. I have a Beliveau from that year in transit, so many legends in that set!

That's a sharp 7! If it weren't for the left edge, it makes you wonder what it would get. The two 10s on Heritage are well off-centered. I'm surprised PSA was so "friendly" with their assessments.

That card is absolutely beautiful. It's so nice to see that it dodged the card doctors. One of the reasons I like OPC hockey cards is that "rough cut" look.

Congratulations on a great pickup.

Thanks!

Bobby Orr was definitely special, and I haven't entirely given up acquiring his RC just yet.

This was posted by Eric72 in another thread.
Hope this helps.

1. Here's how to post a picture with a computer running Windows:
2. Start a post (either your own or by quoting someone else’s post)
3. Scroll down to (and then click on) “Manage Attachments”
4. Click on “Choose File”
5. Find and select your picture (you’re searching in your own computer files
at this point) and click “Open” or “Insert”
6. Now you’re back in the Net54 software. Click “Upload”
7. Click “Close this window”
8. Click “Submit Reply”

Please note - the software only allows files up to a certain size. If your image is too high-res, try resizing it to somewhere around 1.5 MB.

As far as Cale Makar goes, I gave up trying to buy one of his YG's as I always got outbid so I ended up purchasing this signed and numbered Stature card instead.

Default Mail Day...part 1

I picked up a few cards on eBay over the last month. Now that the USPS logjam has cleared a bit, the cards have begun to arrive.

Just crazy, imo, what these new Connor Bedard cards are currently going for. Hyped to the hill is an understatement, and I'm afraid many will be regretting their decision within a year or less?
Each to their own, and I'm certainly not wishing upon them what I just wrote as maybe I'm the one who is wrong, but I think the odds are in my favor?

So, I stopped by my LCS yesterday morning to pick up some card savers, and I have never seen it so crowded. There were guys all over the place, some waiting in line, others just hanging out. I had no idea what was going on. The young man at the counter (who is usually the only one in the store when I go in) said that Series Two was due to be delivered in 30 minutes, and it was a chance to get Our Guy. Everybody was shelling out $650 for two boxes. I figured since I was there I should get mine too.

Irv,

I'm with you 100%. They better find this kid a Semenko or McSorley very soon or his frame will not live up to the abuse of big boy hockey. Let's face it, McDavid has a much larger frame and can take more punishment. I just don't see this kid as the next big superstar. I could be wrong.

Another eBay purchase, this one from a seller in Canada.

Glad I grabbed a few Gretzky cards before the recent price spike.

i'm a huge fan of 82-83 OPC. I think they're underrated, mainly because the lack of big rookies. But I love the design and they're REALLY tough to get centered and cut clean.

I already had the OPC and made this impulse purchase on eBay a couple weeks ago.

The card value climbed a bit while the US Postal Service had it. Wish all my cards saw appreciation like that during transit.

Some of you may have seen this book on Ebay, as it's been floating around for a while. I finally decided to pick it up. It's super cool and something I probably won't ever see again. Tons of great signatures, including: Howe, Beliveau, Richard Brothers, Bobby Hull, Esposito Brothers, etc...

I haven't received it yet, but can't wait!

I'm just four cards away from a full set 1952-53 Parkhurst after these two Hall Of Fame rookie cards Leo Boivin and George Armstrong. I'm getting there!

A new arrival today that I didn't think was going to ever arrive. 75-76 OPC Bobby Orr. Surprisingly, this was a tough card for me to find centered (L/R) and although this one isn't perfect, it was the best I could find during my search period.
