Default Need Help Identifiying 19th Century "Cards"

Posted By: Donald Johnson

Hello All,

Listing this picture for a friend. He would appreciate your input on these 6 baseball cards.

They are from top left Keefe, Pitcher, N.Y; Conner 1st base New York; Gillespie, Batter, New York; Bottom row; Nelson, R. field, Mets New York;
Meyers, Catcher,Indiannpolis; & Glasscock, S. Stop, Indianapolis. There is nothing on the backs & they appear to have been cut out from something. The are also very thick.

If the backs are blank (which I am pretty sure they are) then you have some players cut from a Buchner Gold Coin series, N284..-like advertising poster. They generally aren't as valuable as the regular players but still neat. Some dealers have tried to put the "their rarer than normal ones" speel....they probably are but are still not worth as much, imo......take care
