My dad turned these three pictures of the 1919-25 St Louis Browns outfield that I posted earlier this month, into the framed photo shown below. Wood frames, some fancy cuts, with paint that has a concrete look/feel. I switched Williams to RF and Tobin to LF because it looked better that way with their poses

Awesome cards, especially that Gehrig. A great addition to any collection.

Terrific piece, John. I'm holding off on making analogies between the Browns and recent Pirates teams now that you're a perennial wildcard team.

You could have compared the current Pirates' outfield to the one in the pictures. Both pretty good groups

Thanks for the kind words everyone - I took a chance on a raw card with a so-so scan off of ebay and it turned out to be a great gamble!

Saw this a few moons ago on eBay and couldn't justify the price..... so when it came up as part of a lot, had to have it.

Still paid more than it's worth.

I guess he was born in a Manger.

And if anyone can explain the background going yellow while his head appears ok, I'm all ears. It's the blue, right???

Lewis Vintage Collectibles:

Be very careful with that Negro League team photo, it might very well be a fake. You should be able to tell by viewing it in person.

No No! I already knew that or at least assumed it..... so no bad news!

I'm just trying to figure out how it only hit up the blue color (or the blue part of the green background) while not touching his face......it's really odd and why I like it.

Pretty stoked to get this ac dietsch cobb in the mail today... Great appeal despite the low technical grade... And a big thanks to Dave Schrader of Bagger's...if you haven't dealt with him, I'd suggest you do... He's a pleasure to deal with.

That's a great card! I love the T206 portraits. Working on that part of the monster. Here is my Matty cycle back I just got. Looking for other scarce Matty backs if anybody has them to sell or trade.

Just got these two cards from Al at LOTG:

Edited to add: With the Wagner, I now have all the E95 hall of famers, and it's my fifth different Honus (both E90-1s, E90-2, Colgans Chip, and E95)
