Default Defensive Back Royalty

I thought of something today and thought it would make a fun little game. One last name has become synonymous with success at defensive back (both vintage and modern). Your answer must be a card image of one or more of the players.

First one to answer gets a virtual high five!

You are correct! However, there is one more modern and two vintage to round out the group...

Very cool idea, Casey! I have the last vintage one but need to scan it to post it. Hopefully somebody will beat me to it today.

My first thought was Mike Haynes and Lester Hayes..no match ...Woodson was the only one I could think of that were more than one...Abe Woodson was on the back of my mind but he's got a couple of cards that call him halfback so that kinda threw me off until the 1960 topps..

Modern, is Deon Sanders

Vintage to me is Kenny Easley over Ronnie Lott, and I was HUGE Nines fan.
Another vintage DB name that defines the position as far as cards, is Chris Hanburger.

Now this is just My Opinion.

K-Nole,

Those are definitely great ones! The point I was trying to make is that there have been 5 defensive backs in NFL history with the last name of Woodson, and all have been successful.

Abe Woodson: 5-time Pro Bowl Selection, 2-time First Team All-Pro, Borderline Hall of Famer

Marv Woodson: 1-time Pro Bowl Selection

Rod Woodson: 11-time Pro Bowl Selection, 6-time First Team All-Pro, Hall of Famer

Darren Woodson: 5-time Pro Bowl Selection, 3-time First Team All-Pro, Borderline Hall of Famer

Charles Woodson: 8-time Pro Bowl Selection, 3-time First Team All-Pro, Future Hall of Famer

OH JEEZ!!!
I am an idiot!!

I didn't get it. I need to read more carefully instead of just trying to fit in.

LOVE Abe Woodson as I am an old Niners fan.

I couldn't agree more on Easley over Lott. I can't think of anything Lott did better, except be drafted by a better team and stay healthy. He's still the best safety I've ever seen, too bad he couldn't have played longer. He should be in the HOF.

Sorry about hijacking the thread, carry on...

not top tier i reckon...i always liked Gary Fencik.. maybe because i watched a lot of Bears games in the 80's. Doug Plank, and Jack Tatum come to mind.
