Now my earliest card (1882), and got two others, too. And as they say, "the most beautiful of the pre-war advertising cards."

Since this isn't the BST we can talk about stuff. It went for $956 after juice last night in the weekly Heritage auction. I was the under bidder. Cool card but hard to calculate value.

Indeed. I paid through the nose for that bad boy. Sorry Leon (kinda...not completely...maybe a little sorry ). I figured you may have been in on it at some point.

I wish it was an antique store find. All I ever see at antique stores and malls are junk wax, junk wax era cards, and 1960's-1980's programs and store model equipment.

I have never seen another T209 like it.

The thrill of the hunt though right? But sometimes it does pay off! While I didn't find a scrap card I did find a T206 Drum back in an antique store. Before that the best I did was finding some good/vg 55 bowman commons for cheap! And yes.. several boxes of 1988 Donruss!

Great pick ups everyone!!

I was an underbidder (though not the underbidder ) too. Pretty crazy card. I'm not into scrap at all, but I thought it was really neat. I actually thought it went pretty cheap compared to other recent scrap T209-1 auctions. I wonder if not being slabbed contributed to that.

Sweet pick up Ed! I've been interested in adding a Nadja back (and/or World Champions front) for a little while now. Where you find it?

I got it in the Heritage Sunday auction. You never see these, then two in four months. Pretty fun! I was once told certain issues come in waves, that it is cyclical. That has proven so true.

Jerry, I am happy to pick up a couple from your e-bay, too. I just got the E95 Eddie Collins from your last group. Should look real nice with the Collins E104, don't you think? That photo I picked up has a very young Edd Roush in it. My, collecting is fun.

Cool card Leon. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is that Connie Mack's writing on the back?

Great card, but that would be a RPC and not a RPPC due to the blank back.

I am not a handwriting authenticity person and can't really tell. I certainly didn't expect it or think about it. His writing resembles this, as it's kind of fancy, but I seriously doubt it.

Cool card either way. If there was a way to confirm it was his it would make it that much more interesting. Do you recognize the name of the person who presented that card to whoever wrote that?

CJ 15s seem to be "red" hot now, as least PSAs, for some reason--any idea why? Just the usual couple guys trying to boost registry, bidding against each other for awhile, or something else, as CJ 14s fade a bit. http://www.net54baseball.com/attachm...1&d=1457842449

I can not THANK Jerry T. enough for making this card available to me !!!!!!!!!!

I have always thought this is the toughest card in a set with a lot of tough cards. It is now my Holy Grail !!!!!

BTW --- Also #100

("only" 5 super tough ones left: Both Wagners, Clarke, Pit., Sweeney, Bost. and Jackson )

Fun stuff, Scott

That's one thing I hate about Hunts, no back images. So I guess you asked for a back scan then??
For the price, its a nice addition for sure. Kinda reminds me seeing your Texas Tommy. Which I think I saw in a current or recent auction.
