Default Cubaball 2010 -- or "gd" = "gem mint"

Spent 8 days in Cuba, watching Cuban baseball games.

Picked up some old photos and a cool yearbook. Condition of items are generally horrible, as heat and humidity has taken its toll. Some are posted here, and the entire 975 photo collection can be seen on Flickr here. The highlight, no doubt, was meeting 98 year old Conrado Marrero. Shown below is Conrado demonstrating his knuckleball grip

The website for cubaball is at http://cubaballtours.com/

Sounds like a fabulous trip! Conrado looks darn healthy for 98.

Great Stuff!

Am I the only one or does anyone else hate the full length pants on baseball players? Looks like they're wearing their dads' pajama bottoms...

I don't like them either, but Im one of the odd-balls who doesn't like the knee high-styled pants either (call em what you want, they're still KNICKERS).

Here's a plaque at Tropical Stadium, where Josh Gibson and others played (still 600 feet ! to CF). However, this plaque is when the major leagues, managed by Dave Bancroft, played in Havana

The photo has facsimile autographs of the touring American ballplayers. If you want to pick out the names, a large size photo can be seen here
