The previous post about the Copeland Sale reminded me of something I wanted to share. In the April, 1990 Guernsey's Auction, lot B609 reads as follows: |

What are you saying in the post? That not all cards are known or that this is the largest group auctioned? |

Based on the lack of response, I guess I wasn't clear. The primary reason was it appears there are possibly extra cards in the set that nobody has catalogued before. The secondary purpose was to show the enormity of this group being sold as one lot. |

Thanks for bringing back the painful memory Barry. When I think about past auctions and things that I wish I could do over again, that E107 offering repeatedly comes to mind. |

I see some of what you are saying. I still think the other 3 cards of the 150 subjects might surface or they may never have been produced, who knows at this point. Also other team variations may still exist. As you know it was almost 100 years later before I discovered 2 new team variations. Others could exist hidden away. |

Corey- I have some memory of it actually passing and being sold privately after the sale. Does that ring a bell? Yes, that is clearly one that got away. Could probably make a small profit on it if resold today. |

It's a shame Guernsey's didn't list all the cards in their catalog. Now the identity of the uncatalogued cards they sold may never be known. |

Let's call it even. If you work out a deal with me so I can get the Sullivan Cabinet, then dinner is on me. I'll send you some scans of trade bait via e-mail later. |
