Default June pickup thread

Never kicked one of these off before (hope I'm not stepping on toes) but pretty excited to add this one, at a price I found to be reasonable:

Thanks all, and God bless the black swamp find. I don't even care how many there are. High grade playing days Cobb was not in my vocabulary before the BSF

Default Big step towards 520

This one kind of fell from the sky! I expected it to be #520 -- but it ended up being #516 instead.

And great pickup on the D304 Andrew -- one of my favorite cards in the entire hobby.

Picked up a bunch of cards in the past two weeks, I just started to snap the pics. Just want to say, all my pick ups were from net54 members, thanks Luke for this one. To all the new members, this is the best place to shop for cards and to find new hobby friends.

After seeing all those beauties, things are going to get a little ugly. I purchased (for very little) a group of skins from a scrapbook...about 20 in all. Some compounded their sins by also being trimmed.

Highlights: DeLong (skinned and trimmed) Terry, Maranville, O'doul, Kuyler, Traynor and Lindstorm

1933 Goudey: Collins, Traynor, Grimes and Hoyt

And the "highlight" of the lows...These US Caramels

There were also a few Goudey commons. Still, at a little over $3 a card, it is a bottom feeder's dream.

I was fortunate to find these recently which were found in an envelope dated 1911. There was a letter inside talking baseball but not mentioning the cards.

All but one are EPDG backs and they look like they have never seen sunlight.

Joe, Awesome find, congratulations. You really need to spread those cards out and let us get a better view. It appears to be at least three HOF’er’s

Thank You Guys! Yes there are the three HOFers. I will try to get better scans posted but did not want to clutter up the thread too bad.

Did I miss the part about how you came to find this envelope? I'm sure it's a good part of the story. Please share.

Thank You. It was dumb luck on my part because all I did was find the seller who uncovered them from an estate. Here are a few scans.

Posted in another thread. Not really a card, nor extremely vintage, but I finally found a collectible of HOF Spinks Sportswriter's Award Honoree, Milton Richman. He apparently played briefly in the minors in the St. Louis Browns organization, which is why I wanted SOMETHING of him. I collect those HOF honorees who actually played professionally. Terrific cards this month, guys!!

A small add to the E253 set and apparently when I can't get enough candy, I pick up this horrible tobacco habit. Thanks Jamie!

Pete, incredible pick up. Congrats!

I am sorry to follow that amazing post card with these, but I am too excited not to post my most recent pickups. The (Connecticut) Wagner and the Doyle come from the collection that was shown in the Detroit Institute of ArtS for two years. Needless to say, I am tickled. I will try to post bigger/better pics later.

Default T206 scarce variations now complete

The Demmitt has been posted already in the thread, but I finally received the Smith (Chicago & Boston) variation today.

Been tinkering with this graphic of the scarcer variations in my set for a while, and now pleased to complete it.

At 518/520 on the Monster in PSA 4-5, and it's been a heck of a fun ride. Lots of good friends made along the way.
Nearly there now...

Ryan, Congrats on three awesome cards. That Wagner is incredible. I knew you would pick one up, just didn’t think you were going to do it the next day.

Also, great pick ups by all. Enjoy your new cards...
