Hi guys,

I'm a new member but a long-time collector and look forward to getting to know you guys. I wanted to introduce myself here.

Anyway, I hope it's okay that I post this here but I'm having a hard time believing if I was burned on a Super Bowl program purchase.

Can someone help me tell the difference between the official scarcer game program that you can only pick up at the stadium vs the news stand edition and mail order edition besides the $2 price tag on the "replica"...

Any help is appreciated - I just bought one for my elder dad and want to ensure I was not burned. What are the differences?

Thanks so much

Welcome to the forum, Alex.
I see you posted this question in the memorabilia section too. I strongly recommend you read the rules and don't post in the wrong places. You had registered at 1 am and less than 10 hours later sent me an email asking when you would be approved. Just a suggestion, you might slow down a little bit. Good luck and happy hunting....

Aloha, Alex....tell us what you collect in cards? Dave. ps The "search" feature is jammed with knowledge! When I think of a question I check there first and 9 out of 10 times I get more info than I needed.

Sorry if I misposted, Leon. Ill try football. Just getting acquainted. I'm a collector of some bowman and leaf sets from pre WWII. Also have a lot of baseball digests dating back to the pre-war days and collect baseball and football memorabilia.

Thanks for welcoming me.

thanks, appreciate it, leon. i used the search feature for the super bowl III program question but couldn't find anything.

if anyone could be so kind to let me know how to tell if i have the original one, that would be great and the differences b/w the newsstand-mail order one (Jets-Colts Super Bowl III program).

i look forward to chatting about other stuff with you guys as well.

Thanks!

I see where you posted in the memorabilia section, but you also may want to post in the Football section under "Postwar Cards and Watercooler Talk".

There was a similar thread on reprint World Series programs last year--I believe the bogus ones had a thin white border on the interior pages (and perhaps the cover too) that should not have been there.
