Default Small nuggets- Kroger Bread Stew Bolen card - 1930s

Small things we find out about keeps the hobby interesting. Until now I had only seen one of these pseudo-cards which Frank Ward (hi Frank) has/had. I think he still has it but not sure. While it has been labeled 1940s I think it's going to be closer to circa 1930, with this new player/card (Bolen) found. Would be interested in hearing of any others known about. (and the return appearance of the quarter)

Interesting card. And "silver" quarter too! Dave.

Looks that way to me...might be one reason so few survived too.

Right...untie the bread, eat a few, toss the string.

I did a quick google search and the only photo that came up was this one that was on Franks website at one time.

I thought Leon might be the winner of that card. I looked up the records of both players and decided it is likely that it is a minor league issue. Possibly limited to the Indianapolis Indians where both players were for a large portion of their careers.

If you look closely, you can see an "I" on their hats, so good call. Maybe these were distributed in Indianapolis Krogers only.
