Default Aprils Grading Report

I was not expecting this. Good for SGC

Overall grading activity declined by 7% in April compared to March, but was up 11% YoY.
PSA graded 1.21m cards - down 10% vs March, and down 1% YoY.
CGC graded 181k cards - down 2% vs March, and up 107% YoY.
SGC graded 164k cards - up 11% vs March, and up 73% YoY. This is an all-time high for SGC.
Beckett graded 63k cards - down 5% vs March, and up 13% YoY.

From that report it looks like the SGC sale helped them.

If you believe SGC will be going away at some point a good time to get them your cards I guess.

I am continually confounded by how many people continue to use PSA, but I guess that’s a conversation for another day.

Until PSA cards stop bringing you more $$$ than other companies, then people will continue to use them. It's that simple.

Hard to believe anyone would use SgC at this point. But hey, it's your money!

I like SGC but when a company is still grading 10x the competitors, no denying they are still King Kong of grading companies.

Pop and Registry are two market spaces of the industry PSA owns and rules industry-wide. No other TGP comes close or has real reach and or relevant space in terms of meaningful registry and pop.

I wish SGC would put more effort into these two items. Maybe the buyout will help with this effort.
