Bill, do we have any hard proof that the Colgan "square proof" is actually that? I've always had some doubt about the origins of this card. Mine is below:

It was good that Leon ressurected the old topic on this. I don't think they are "officially" proofs, but tend to agree given the size & similarities to Colgan's that they were offered up in a different product. What that was, and when it was distributed are valid and unanswered questions, and may never be unless some big discovery is made. That being said, whether it's a Colgan or not isn't too high on my radar. It's a period card that I didn't have a type of in my set, and now I do so I am happy! Let's hope some light is finally shed in the future and that it turns out that the Criss is the new holy-grail of card collecting!

Default Let's hope it turns out that the Criss is the new holy grail ...

There are right around 50 of them from what I've heard, and the highest graded on is in a PSA 8 case (but I think it's been trimmed). Watch out for all the fakes on eBay that were found in Grandpa's attic!

Default 1889 Supplement

This is my first "The Stage" Supplement, from 1889. Thought it was neat that the adjoining page was still in tact and had a cool writeup on Harry Stovey. Anyone else have any Supplements from "The Stage" to share?

I picked up a Gabby Street T3 in a recent Clean Sweep Auction at an incredible price. It replaces my previous Street T3 that was used to finalize a trade last year.

Great Cubs Team. Presume that's a PC?

The Evers, Tinker and Zimmerman are recognizable poses appeaing individually on other PC's I have seen.

Default I know these are complete BEATERS...

...but given that Im targeting them as players, the age of the cards, and how few cards exist for each player; I am absolutely estatic to add these to my collection. My thanks to Rhett Y, who let me in on the fact that these cards even existed. Over time, I hope to upgrade condition.

Won this in B&L Auctions...

Picked this up at the Philly show. The largest postcard I have ever seen, especially pre-war. HM Taylor PC of presentation of floral horseshoe to Bill Donovan. It measures 7-1/4" x 9-1/4". The scan is approx. 80% of the actual size. And yes, Ty is actually smiling.

Default Red Sun redux

Picked these up in the recent Hunt Auction, and had them graded at the Valley Forge show. Very pleased especially with the Wilder which I suspected would grade a 50, although his Momma should have taught him how to correctly button a sweater. Enjoy.

Still looking for T209s from both series, especially color.

Cheers, Mike

Wow, some good stuff rolling in here.

Brian: Awesome WS Supplement. I wish I could find a 12 or 18 piece like that from Fenway.
Danny: I love that pose of Johnson in the 21 exhibits.
Bob: Nice T205 Joss. Tough card.

Val: Nice stuff. If you don't mind me asking, what issue is the Vern Stephens from?

Default Vern Stephens Card

Michael,
This Vern Stephens card is from the set that is identified on page 342 of my 2008 edition of the Standard Catalog of BB Cards as "1949 Schumacher Service Station". The narrative in this edition says the location of this service station is unknown and that the year of issue could be either 1949 or 1950, as all the known players were with their identified teams for both years. I don't know if newer editions of the SCBC have any more current info.

Default back from SGC...

Guys these two cards fit the thread only by the most generous of descriptions, as I have had both of these cards for many years...still I just got them entombed for safe keeping...Grove looks nicer than the grade to me.
1933 was a good year...
