Default Obscure Variations

There is sooo much we don't know about boxing stuff. I am pretty good but I find myself discovering new stuff all the time. I recently acquired a 1964 Slania Clay to upgrade mine and when I put them side by side I saw this:

WTF??? Maybe the 2nd one is a proof?

Greb can be found like this too, and with a third where his shirt is both blue and white.

Scans stolen from eBay because I'm lazy. Both white backs.

A stamp collector I contacted thinks the lighter one is a counterfeit. I am not sure what it is. Seems like a ridiculous effort to make a counterfeit that doesn't even look like the original.

Anyhow, moving on, I did not know about this E282 variation until I ran across it:

Here is an Oh Boy checklist of 31 cards. I'd guess the variation is part of the set to make it an even 32 cards.

The second is most likely fake. Slania was a very prolific stamp and banknote engraver, and among the best ever. That second one looks like a not so good attempt at duplicating what he did, and is probably lithographed rather than engraved.

I didn't know he did a series of boxers and series of other subjects on his own.

The lousy looking one is not engraved so not a Slania. A knock-off meant to look like a Slania.
