I am very green when it comes the the N172 set (all 19th century cards for that matter.) I assumed that since the N172 set featured cards from Worcester, that Collins played for a team from Lowell, MA. Am I wrong in this assumption?

Hello Jason,

Jay has provided you with the lone example from the set. Bill Collins is shown with the 1889 Lowells of the Atlantic Association on what is considered a team change card.

There are a total of seven teams covered from the Atlantic Association including the Worcesters (the other team you mentioned). The NL Boston Beaneaters and PL Boston Reds round out the teams from Massachusetts. There are also two teams from Connecticut.

Far more information is shared in the Old Judge book coming out later this year.

Best Regards,
Joe Gonsowski
