I don’t know how much larger this will be, but it’s all I have at the moment.

Johnny Vander Meer display from the 2008 50th Anniversary of the Reds HOF
I recently picked up this Vandy display that was used by the Reds HOF in 2008 during the celebration of the HOF's 50th Anniversary. Johnny Vander Meer was one of the original inductees into the Reds HOF in 1958.
The Reds sold several items from this exhibit in the Everything But The House auction in Cincinnati last week. The Vander Meer display says: Johnny Vander Meer Pitcher 1937-1949 and has this quote from Vander Meer: "Somebody might tie it, but I don't think it will ever be broken" - Vander Meer on his record back-to-back no-hitters in 1938. The display dimensions are 9" x 12" by 1/4" Many thanks to net54 good guy Chris Gamble (Bumpus Jones) for telling me about this auction. Last edited by Scott Garner; 09-03-2018 at 06:42 AM. |
