Default Ask Me Ruth Pin

Glad to see Net 54 is back up and running!! I am in the market for a 1934 Ruth Ask Me Pin. Is there a way of telling the difference between a legit piece and a reprint? Thanks much. Phil

Hi Phil,
Great pin but it has been reproduced. The pin is 3 inches across and the real ones have a kinda cheap cardboard backing, which does seem to come apart over time. I have seen the cardboard in grey color (like mine) and also a bluish color. I would try and stick to the grey color. If it has a tin back meaning there is a pin thru a piece of tin its probably a repro. I have has this companion piece for a long time kinda nice to see it. Good luck in your search... Prices hard to say anywhere from 175-400...

Default Ruth pin

Thanks very much Al. Thank was an excellent explanation. Clarification though. The back of your pin looks more like brown cardboard than gray? Thanks again. Phil
