Default Babe Ruth folk art piece

Looking for some help identifying the artist of a folk art piece of Babe Ruth wearing a Red Sox uniform. The story I was able to find is this hung in the Narragansett Race Track (RI) that closed in 1978. Ruth attended races there in the 1930's. Anyone know anything about this please let me know. All the names of the artists have come up lame. Gosus - Posus - Fosus ----??.....it is painted on a large wood panel with artwork on the back of a jockey.

It’s maddening that those four letters definitely look like “osus” but no results come up with any first (unknown) letter. Then again, the Net54 detectives are pretty good!

Probably a piece created by a fan of Ruth's and the racetrack. This type of "folk-art" has become increasingly popular over the years. Congratulations of acquiring a great piece. (can we see the back image?)

It looked like Josus to me, so I looked it up and came up with this:

https://www.askart.com/artist/Joseph...ham_Josus.aspx

I tried to look for her signature but didn't see it. I figured you could look for her signature now and see if it matches. She did folk art and was known for watercolors it says, and she died in 1999.

Good luck!

Great piece regardless.
