Hi Tony- without the presence of any baseball equipment, it would be impossible to say for sure whether or not it is baseball. Even a ball alone wouldn't clinch it. Without a bat, or in later tintypes a catcher's mask or fielder's glove, you can only speculate. |

Looks like a jockey's cap and he looks to have the small wiry frame of a jockey. |

Athlete from another sport, I agree with Barry. There needs to be a ball, glove or bat present or type uniform. The athlete maybe track and field or as stated above horse racing was popular back then (Jockey) |
