Default 1962 Post Canadian Koufax “walks”

I need Larry Sherry, Jim Gilliam, and the Koufax “walks” spelled correctly variation to complete my Dodgers team set.

Just watched the Koufax variation sell on ebay for over $600!! and the variation wasn’t even noted on the listing title. It’s the first one I’ve seen auctioned since I started looking for it about a year ago. I thought I might have a chance to get it around $250 when it stalled a couple days ago around the $220 mark but I had no idea it would finish this strong. Guess I’ll just be printing the picture of it out as a placeholder in my binder cuz I’ll never pay that much for it!

Joe:

You missed my listing on ebay! Not that you would have bought it anyway after reading your post above

https://www.ebay.com/itm/255020331962

I ended up selling it off ebay for more than the one that just sold on ebay,

It is really a rare card as it only came on a very bad tasting 7 oz, Grape Nuts Flakes cereal box that was not a very good selling cereal to kids back in the day.

Man, makes the $600 one look like a deal, haha. Yours was in slightly worse condition, too. I have to give you the credit for learning about it. I had no idea it existed until you mentioned it to me a while ago.

Just checked my stash to see if I could help, and it turned out I have the "Wzlks" Koufax and only Hodges and Roseboro.

What is the easiest way to differentiate the 10oz Alpha-Bits Koufax card from the 7 oz Grape Nuts card version? Does the 'WZLKS" version appear on the Grape Nuts cards or are all the Grape Nuts cards the "WALKS" version?

As I mentioned above, the rare wAlks version ONLY comes on the Grape Nut Flakes box. Flakes is highlighted because cards appeared on both Grape Nut cereal AND Grape Nut Flakes

I read what you mentioned above, which was why I asked my question. I understand that the "WALKS" version appears only on the 7oz GNF box. However, my question was does the "WZLKS" version also appear on a 7oz GNF box. In other words, can both the "WALKS" and "WZLKS" version be found on a 7oz GNF box?

Your message posed another question, does Koufax appear on a "Grape Nuts Flakes 7oz" box, an "Alpha Bits 10oz " box and a "Grape Nuts" box also? I was under the impression this card was a double print, not a triple print. In my earlier post, I apologize for using just "7oz grape nuts" instead of "7oz grape nuts flakes" as I was not aware that Koufax appeared on a regular grape nuts box.
