Default How does a MC card impact Registry Score?

I’m looking for a card for a PSA Registry I am working on. I found a nice example but it is an 8 MC. How does that impact a registry score? I’m heard it treats it almost like it was 2 grades lower, is this correct?

Thanks!

Will the registry score make you enjoy the card more or less?

Neither more or less. I plan to circle back and do some upgrades later.

I suggest waiting for the right card then.

Since we're on the subject of registry questions, will a signed card that does not have a card grade (with either an authentic or graded auto) count towards a set registry?

I've just recently started on the First Ballot HOF registry set and my Musial, Ryan, and Carlton RCs are all signed (not yet graded), and I was wondering if they will count when only authenticated.

Sorry OP, I'm of no help to your question.

Default my understanding

Is any qualifier drops the set contribution by 2 grades 8MC= for ranking purposes.

As already stated - I would wait for the "right one" - unless the card is significantly obscure or rare.

Jarrod - sorry not sure of the answer to your question, my guess would be if there is a card grade there is a possibility it could "count" for registry purposes. Highly doubt just an autograph grade with no card grade would though.

I am actively buying and selling vintage sports cards graded and raw. Feedback as a buyer: https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=297262

I am accepting select private consignments of quality vintage cards (raw or graded) and collecting "want" lists for higher end ($1K+) vintage cards.

Additionally, the following point deductions are taken for Qualifiers. For example, if your card or ticket is graded PSA 9Q, the grade calculation in the Registry will be 7.

9Q = -2
8Q = -2
7Q = -2
6Q = -2
5Q = -2
4Q = -2
3Q = -1
2Q = -1
1Q & 1.5Q = no deduction
This means a Fair(MC) is worth 1.5 while a Good(MC) is worth 1... ;-)

Signed cards that have gone through PSA/DNA auto authentication ARE NOT eligible for PSA Set Registries even as Authentic since they're coded as autographed cards.

Autographed Cards
In the hobby, trading cards that are signed after-the-fact (not cards manufactured with autographs) are treated differently than trading cards that remain in their original form. While both types of cards are highly collectible, it would be unfair and illogical to treat unsigned and signed trading cards the same in the PSA Set Registry. In other words, they both deserve their own categories and should compete against like items. Because autographs and non-autographed cards are two different kinds of collectibles, the Registry does not permit signed cards which have been PSA/DNA authenticated in non-autograph sets. This only refers to non-manufactured signed cards. 1998 and later cards that come signed from the manufacturer can be used in most sets. Exceptions to the autograph vs. non-autograph card policy include player sets where a signed card can be used in place of an unsigned card and signed tickets can be used in non-autograph ticket sets.

Thanks Howard & John. Not the answer I was hoping for, but not unexpected either.
