Default 2012 Topps Baseball "Gold Rush" Stamped Parallel

in keeping with my parallel quest theme...

does anyone know where the 2012 Gold Rush stamped parallel cards come from? I found reference again to HTA (home Team Advantage) but there doesnt seem to be an HTA factory set for this year.

its only 330 cards so first series?

any help appreciated

http://baseballcardpedia.com/index.p...opps#Gold_Rush

Here's some info on them...can't vouch for the accuracy, but it sounds good.

hey Mike. i found that site too earlier today. the “gold rush” they are talking about (i think…) are those inserts that look nothing like the regular set.

on TCDb they list a “gold rush stamped” parallel (330 cards so i think only series 1) and they look exactly like the base set. they just have a “gold rush” stamp in the front similar to the inaugural rockies/marlins/etc sets

i can’t find info anywhere on those. maybe factory set inserts?

Ah, sorry...naming two sets the same thing...that SOUNDS like Topps.

Maybe they were a one-per pack type parallel? Sorry I don't know more!

According to COMC, the Gold Rush insert set was a redemption set. Maybe they also were packaged with a couple of stamped base cards?

that is not a bad idea…it’s possible that they were somehow attached to the redemption set. it’s just weird that there is no reference to them anywhere. TCDB has the checklist but no description. of how they were .distributed

with things like the ‘98 minted in cooperstown or any of the other myriad 2000s parallel sets, you can easily find the source.

I know a bit about this set as I am just a few cards short of finishing it. Each Home Team Advantage store that registered got a "Gold Rush" promotional box to run a party when 2012 Topps came out. Each box had balloons, banners, pins & a pack of 30 gold rush stamped cards. As far as I know the packs were random. All 330 cards in series 1 exist but I think there may be some short prints as I have not seen some of the cards in a long time. I also know Topps did a crappy job sending the kits out to stores as many never got it. My feeling is there may be as low as 20 to 25 of each card.
Here is the correct link to the Baseballcrdpedia site for this set, they have it listed as a promo. http://baseballcardpedia.com/index.p...2_Topps#Promos

I became curious on these because I've never seen them before. There is a 100 card set that looks like the picture posted here. It's a wrapper redemption, 30 normal wrappers gets you a 30 wrapped pack of cards, or 15 jumbo wrappers get you some too. There are some autos too, didn't really say how they came, but it looks there is 92. Finally there is the basic set cards with the gold rush stamp on them. It looks like the whole 2 series and they came in boxes to the HTA dealers, I think it said either 30 or 50 to each box. Hope this helps. I found all this on Beckett.

thanks for the help guys. that is starting to make sense why you don't see them very often...and usually only one or two at a time. and I thought the topps employee editions were giving me fits....
