M116 Cy Seymour Baltimore Variation
Posted By: Preece1
I was the underbidder for the M116 Seymour Baltimore variation in the Lipset Auction (Spring 04). I have heard that there were a couple of other copies of this variation for sale in the last 3 years. Does anyone have any information on where they are now? If any are still for sale? |

as you know the cards exists in 2 different print processes, lipset had the finished 300 series back as well as the blank back, black & white versions. i also have one of the blank back, black & white versions. my question is what is the black & white one? it is on actual card stock, not cardboard like as ad piece and why would they pick cy seymour who changed teams for an ad piece of all peoplem, as sporting life always used top notch players in their ads. printers scrap? doesn't look like it but both the lipset card and mine are handcut. |

"Rare" is a word which is tossed around alot in our hobby and especially when describing cards on ebay or in other auctions, but Scott's Seymour and this Mitchell are the only two Black and Whites I know of from this set. I know it is possible others exist, does anyone else have one and if so could you post a scan or e-mail me one for my article? GAI would not go so far as to label this blank backed Mitchell as a "proof," but I find it hard to believe it is anything but a proof. Very similar to the E97 Black and White proof set. |

I have another Ty Cobb strip card with them in the batch of cards I sent a week or so ago - the last one I sent they slabbed it authentic and I was hoping for the same this time. |
