Default Ted's Tuesday Trivia

Can you identify all 14 ballplayer's (13 HOFer's) in this photo....circa 1956 ?

The tall guy in the middle (top row) is not a ballplayer.

Note

Having shown this photo in the past to avid (vintage) BB fans, none have yet to identify all 14.

However, one should never underestimate the BB expertise of Net54 members.
Therefore, I do expect that some one on this forum will identify all 14.

Here's the back cover of the menu at Toots Shor's restaurant from Wednesday , April 14, 1954. Prime rib dinner was $3.95 that night.

My Toots Shor menu is dated Feb 25, 1956.

Toots Shor continued printing this photo on their menus for several years during the 1950's

Ed Walsh must be 70 in that picture. He sure doesn't look it. And what is with Latham's right leg/foot?

While Ed Walsh looked much younger than his actual age at the time would indicate, Kid Nichols had been dead for more than a year - and looks pretty spry for a corpse. Date must be wrong.

Latham died in 1952 at the age of 92
So the get together could have happened in the '40's and they just kept running the same photo year after year.

As a Latham collector, I would like to pick up a menu, if anyone has a dupe, please PM me.
I did check eBay and saw ashtrays & coaster, but no menus.

Here's a Latham sig I recently picked up from LOTG alongside a Buchner N284 that I've had for awhile.

Default Arlie Latham's right foot

Arlie Latham was known as a big clown/practical joker. I think he was joking around when the cameraman took the picture.

Can you get your foot into that position on a small chair? I sure can't. Odd.

Looks like he was having a hell of a time. Wonder what old Ty was whispering to the Mechanical Man.
