Default Ali Bomaye!

Following the LOTG close tonight and holy crap are Ali cards hot! The 1963 Chocolates Simon SGC 3 went for $4500 (w/vig) and the Exhibit green tint SGC 3.5 is at $1440 as I write this; an SGC 5 went for $2460 last month in Heritage. Last week in LOTG a 1960 Hemmetts BVG 3.5 went for $3,240.

Did y'all see 122 T218 commons for $1300? Does that seem like 4 X what I would get if I tried to sell some of mine?

I’ve noticed this on eBay lately, plenty transacting at the normal very low price, but some commons inexplicably selling for what feels like many times what they should.

I’ve been giving away common T218 dupes to my trade partners and hobby pals for a couple years, and I still have several hundred left. I can’t imagine why they would ever go up much beyond inflation. They are everywhere and I doubt demand ever honestly beats supply.

After looking at the LOTG lot again, I guess I'm not factoring in the condition. For an ungraded T218 lot that large, the general condition looks nice. I'm mostly looking at the backs and stars when I'm looking to price a lot of T218. One of my weaknesses in this hobby is understanding how condition relates to market price.
