It was a little under $200. I think it's real but have never seen one before. I took a chance.

I had a gut feeling it's good. Also, I put 2 and 2 together on it. The seller was from NY as well as the card (good sign). I did research on the radio station and it checked out (good sign). The back is blank, so if this was a cut off of a pamphlet (my initial thought) it would most likely have writing/text on the back of it (good sign). The borders look very evenly cut and it has the "look" of a premium type card (good sign). The tape does look old and aged (good sign). The seller has over 1500 perfect feedback. (good sign) ALL of those things together gave me a good feeling, though I am still not 100% on it. If anyone has seen another like it I would be interested in hearing about it as I would love to know more. Just because it could be uniquely known doesn't scare me. I am of those that believe there is still a ton of stuff to be discovered in our hobby. It shipped to me yesterday so we shall see. regards

A plate from a book would be blank backed. I would check the left edge closely to see if it is uniform or a tad ragged. I've never seen it before so can't say if it is good or bad...but I also think the old tape is at least a good sign.

Looks to be a P/G, so is it a good or bad buy?

Default Maybe this is too obvious....

but WSYR is still operating as a radio station in the Syracuse, NY, area (I am almost certain)... and while its unlikely anyone there now was there when this premium (of the Syracuse Cheifs manager) was issued, perhaps someone at the station has access to an archive or some such thing that the station may have kept, or knows of one at a local library or at Syracuse University (which may have a communciaitons department that has information on the station's history)... just a thought (or two).....

Leon, I wanted to bump this to show a scan of mine mentioned previously. I was going through some old Dick Porter photos and it reminded me of this thread. - Mike

I guess there's one more of these out there. It appears to be a set of one. Too bad they didn't make a Jim Bottomley.

I assume Porter is a name and not a job description?

I’ll also assume Dick is a name and not an adjective
