Default Japanese Menko Cards

My initial interest in Japanese menko cards was the art. Probably not everyone's taste, but I've really enjoyed them.

This is a modern card, but will fit in nicely with this crowd. I think it's stunning.

I'm partial to these fine portraits from T206.

Leon,

Here is another very similar piece to the Ratsch Peerless postcard. I've always liked both of them as well.

Don't think I have seen that one. Very cool.

Cy hasn't been shown in a few days. The card really is a simple work of art, as are most E90-1s, in my view.

No self-respecting thread about baseball cards as fine art should exist without the preeminent example of the artistic vanishing point technique as seen on the 1933 Goudey of Paul Richards.

Brian (and now I have to go down the hall and across the campus to classroom 307 in the Eccles building and learn about preeminent Greeks from Professor Frank in his Ancient Mediterranean History 201 class)

Also, not my card, as this original example is likely hanging in a museum.

Maybe this is not exactly "fine art" by definition, but it's one of the favorites in my collection dedicated to the Fidrych rookie card. The artist is Scott Silvers, who I discovered in this thread on Net54 years ago: Old thread on Scott's work
