Default PSA sent wrong cards video

I know it is not prewar, but a bit surprised no one has mentioned this video yet.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN85CBeDbqg&t=0s

How would you handle this situation if you received these cards from PSA or they were yours that someone else got?

This happened to me maybe 10 years ago - they sent me my cards along with others. Nothing value wise like this order, but still it was several thousand dollars.

I contacted PSA and sent them right back - I had an order of maybe 40-50 cards with them at the time, which they did for me at no charge as a thank you. (No bonus 10s as a thank you though!)

Default One of the board members here ....

has a statement that is very appropriate:

Integrity is what you do when no one is looking!

Money can be made and lost easily. Integrity once lost, is difficult and painful to restore.

No question - I would make every effort to get these back to their original owner and get what was mine. The "good" you feel knowing the relief someone else feels (even better if you get to see or hear it) as a consequence of your "right" actions is WAY more valuable than money.

I am accepting select private consignments of quality vintage cards (raw or graded) and collecting "want" lists for higher end ($1K+) vintage cards.

Well said Howard! A reminder of values in short supply today.

Can you imagine having a 20k+ Jordan and it being shipped to the wrong house? I'd lose my mind.

I'm not sure what to think of this video. It's suspect to me that all of those slabs are already in sleeves when he opens the box. I've done a fair amount of grading with PSA and I've never got cards back where the slabs are in soft sleeves. My last order came back around a month ago so maybe it's something that they just started doing, but color me skeptical.

But.. but... PSA have higher resale values!! What a joke. Grade with anybody else, please. No reason PSA should be valued higher. NONE. SGC and CSG cards are just as nice in any given grade. Don't just repeat the mantra that PSA resale is better because that just perpetuates the nonsense. Thank you for listening.

Holy crap!

I'd send them back after contacting PSA, and I'd probably be pretty pissed they sent them to me to begin with.

That's dumping a lot of responsibility on somebody else's doorstep.

Hope PSA is smart enough to get them back in the right hands eventually.

I’ve had two recent subs returned to me - the express order had each card in a sleeve, while the old bulk order that finally was graded did not have cards in sleeves. So it’s likely something they do for higher tiers of grading.

I want to say my last express order had cards in sleeves...that was the $150 level.

I will add that I have been following this guy's channel for a while and he definitely does not strike me as the type to stage something like this. I believe it's legit 100%.

You almost hope it was staged. Because I would not want to be that person and/or discovering those were my cards delivered to the wrong place.
But I agree I would not be surprised if it was legit. Mistakes happen just this is not a small mistake

This content creator has dozens of YouTube videos on his channel. In one of them, another submission reveal, he apparently received Pokemon cards from the grading company instead of his order.

In that one, the box had already been cut open before the video began.

I'm not saying anything regarding the veracity of his claims. However, it seems very unlikely (statistically speaking) this would happen to the same person twice.

That's close to $33,000 for those cards according the most recent sales of each on ebay. Someone at PSA should lose their job over this.

Had a return package from PSA in the mailbox when I got home last night; almost hoped for a misdirected package (over the cards that I sent in over a year ago).

potentially agree with that but shouldn't PSA have some type of process or safeguard to prevent things like that to happen especially higher value cards?

I could see how easy it could be to doubt the video creator, but then I thought perhaps he video'd the entire sequence (from the beginning this time) because of the previous experience. It's possible that PSA had to mass hire a lot of people after the covid experience. My guess is they're probably not hiring rocket scientist for the mail/sorting room. I've seen enough of the minimum wage work force that this doesn't surprise me very much.

Edited to add - It's probably not a bad idea to video the opening of all packages in this day and age.
