Default Honus Wagner Video

Just saw this on Facebook:

It's evidently from 1933, when Honus was 59 years old.

https://url.digitalrelab.com/v1/s3ur...hdl6sF1-7NTfgU

Here it is on Youtube (colorized):

Wow great video and interesting watching in coach players and watching him field and hit.

Interesting background even the truck in the back of the field

That's a great video.

Somewhere I have a clipping from 1922, one of the NY papers, of George Gore still playing sandlot ball at age 63.

Now if only I could somehow keep it together like that.

That was my first thought. Played in a wood bat travel league my senior year of high school and I don’t remember ever getting a crack sound as fulfilling as that line drive he rakes at the end of the video.

Honus looked like he was still having a ball. I love the crooked, dirty, grimy hat that he's wearing as well.

Loved the video.

I am not sure why but I was surprised at the sound of his voice as it was very much not what I had expected. I guess that maybe Honus looked older than his age, perhaps his voice would be a bit more feeble and drawn out.

Am I the only one who was surprised at his voice?

wow! Thanks for posting. Loved it.

Ole Wags could still play at 59! I bet he could hold his own in a real game that year.

Amazing the catcher back there without any protective pads (except for helmet)
