Default How rare are the 1914 T-330-2 PIEDMONT ART STAMPS

I was doing my morning troll through the internet looking for Highlander material, when I notice a post about these stamps. I never see them for sale or on any auction sites ? Are these rare ??

Lets see some of your art stamps !

Gary,

They are very tough to find, especially without damage or pieces missing.

My few that I currently have..

I own a few.

https://imageevent.com/derekgranger/...piedmontstamps

Down to needing only five more for set “completion” if you ignore the two different backs (Factory 25 vs Factory 42).

Always looking to trade/sell some of my duplicates to get to 119 or to add one of the backs I don’t have to get to 238!

And one of my personal favorites since he wasn’t included in the T205 set:

These are great stamps and do not come around often and love getting them when buying collections - most of the time you only see a few around at a time and have had about 7 or 8 in the the last 20 years. Once I had one with a cigarette pack! They are great to collect -There are also some non-sports versions if you can find them

They are pretty tough to come by, and like Mr. sb1 mentioned, often are in rough shape, unlike most of the ones that have been shown on this thread, which are top notch. Here is one with creasing, staining, and missing chunks, but happens to be the one stamp that features artwork not seen in either the T205 set or on T202 end panels (Blair and Wood are seen in both these Piedmont Art Stamps and on T202 end panels as well).

And I believe there are only 3 Yankees in the set, Chance, Fisher and Sweeney. Good luck on tracking these down!

This one probably belongs in brianp-beme's collection.

If you look closely, you can see that these 2 sections are from 2 different WaJo stamps!

Val, only the bottom 25% of your Johnson stamp is a suitable match for my collection...the top 75% is too much of a good thing!

I love the one with the Structo ad attached. I was a vintage toy guy for a while and I owned a couple Structo sets. Kind of the precursor to Erector.

Great looking stamps everyone!! I know I have a handful of these somewhere in a box, but they are mixed in with my postage stamp hoard. At the time, I didn't know what they really were, and it was way before I started collecting T206's. I have hundreds of boxes of postage stamps that are packed with envelopes with sorted stamps, and then I have six 55 gallon plastic trash cans that are unsorted. They fill a 12x12 room in my house, with many of the boxes stacked 6 feet high. I just wish I knew what boxes they were in. It was during a time when I was buying out stamp dealers hoards, when the hobby crashed. I was getting pallets delivered to my shop, because I had a loading dock and forklift. Then loading the boxes into the company van, to bring to my house. But I turned into a hoarder real fast, compared to what my original collection was like. But I couldn't say no to pennies on the dollar, and others that would sell by the pound. My biggest single purchase was 1,200 pounds of pure stamps. I'll get to them one day, and hopefully find those Piedmont stamps too.

Here's a couple hours worth, of going through one of the boxes with higher value postage stamps, and stamps with high denominations. I used some of the stamps from that box to make the first picture below. But I had to throw in a few T206's and some half dimes. Two of my favorate things to collect. It's crazy to think that I made that picture 4 years ago. Time is flying by, and I just keep adding to all my collections.

Here's a few pictures, with a couple pages from one of my albums that's sorted. The pages are double sided, with many stamps having multiple pages of the same stamp. I know that the value of them is probably not worth my time, but it's a hobby.

I just sent off a George Suggs stamp to PSA. And if i am reading their population report accurately, they haven't graded one before.....

Geez, Ron, I cannot imagine the work involved in dealing with that. Bad enough when I get a few thousand oddball and foreign cards; what you describe would drive me to drink. You must have millions of items to go through.
