Default January Pickup Thread

December purchases arrived today. I went with a shiny quartet; last time it was a Tiffany quartet for Larkin. I really like the Donruss Prized Collection.

The Donruss Preferred Gold looks dope.

Have a Larkin auto for sale, FYI.

The 89 Topps Griffey is sharp. If his UD card wasn't so iconic, that Topps card might be the one people think of first.

Struggled his first couple of years beyond the early hype.
Turned out to be a pretty darn good Big Leaguer.

Picked up Mattingly's first and last Topps Chrome card since he retired after the 1995 season.

Unbelievably, I didn't have a Bonds rookie before opening today's mail. At least, I hadn't yet had one during this century.

I'm not sure anyone else collects these, but this is a great set from the 1990s. It's only 20 cards, looks sharp, includes most of the best players of the era, and can be collected a lot of ways because there are different-colored (and rarer) parallels. It reminds me in those aspects of the E94 and E98 sets from the 1910s.

Fascinated to see SGC slabs making a statement in 80's, 90's, and 2000's cards.
