Default Water Cooler Trivia #1

A player named Jake has an unusual relationship with Clytemnestra.

Can you explain it?

An amazing role by the great Irene Papas incidentally.

After being bamboozled, beguiled, and hoodwinked by one of your previous trivia questions, I assume Jake could play or did play baseball, football, basketball, hockey, soccer, auto racing, golf, billiards, figure skating, or MMA?

I have an ancient Greek stone carving of Clytemnestra, but am unsure whether or not PSA or other collectors will recognize the issue as her true rookie card. It's always a hotly debated subject.

Default Just For The Helluvit Hint #3

Don't forget Carlos.

I do not want to cut this off and provide the solution if you are still working on the answer.

I can always provide more clues.

Just let me know.

I know how much fun these can be to solve.

Cliff, I think Peter was quoting Chris Berman regarding Uhlaender.

I will reveal the tortured trivial answer if the Patriots score before being eliminated later today.

LOL that was not a Chris Berman that was original, or if Berman got there first I was unaware. If Mac Jones throws 3 passes or less the Pats will be fine in Buffalo. I am hoping for an Electrafying game.

As promised with the Pats field goal and almost certain elimination, here is the answer to the riddle.

Clytemnestra was married to Agamemnon.
Agamemnon went to fight a war.
Clytemnestra started shacking up with Aegisthus and life was good.
They plotted to kill Agamemnon upon his return.
Agamemnon was killed by Aegisthus or Clytemnestra or both of them.
Avenging the death of his father, Clytemnestra was killed by her son and Electra, not Carmen.
Her son was named Orestes.

Minnie was named after Clytemnestra’s son and killer, Orestes.
Minnie was not a mouse, but was not fond of his surname.
He wasn’t that fond of his mother’s surname either
Minnie’s mother was named Cecilia.
Cecilia’s mother’s maiden name was Minyoso.
The surname Minoso with a tilde over the n.
Minnie’s father, Carlos, worked in the sugar fields in Cuba.

After Carlos and Cecilia divorced, Minnie had his name changed.
Minnie did not like his father’s surname, nor his mother’s surname.
He used his grandmother’s surname, Minoso, pronounced Minyoso with a tilde over the n.
So the now familiar name of Minnie Minyoso was created long after his birth.
However his given name remains Orestes Minyoso officially.

Are you confused yet? This should help.

Minnie's father Carlos’ last name was Arrieta.
Jake Arrieta is not related to Carlos, but originally Minnie Minyoso was named Orestes Arrieta, not Minnie Minyoso.
Was Jake Arrieta named after Orestes Arrieta or Minnie Minyoso? I doubt it, but
now you know the relationship between Jake Arrieta and Clytemnestra.

Am i right, do you think you will forget this?
And I bet if you go to Cooperstown in the future, you will look for the tilde on Minnie's plaque.

For an encore, Frank will connect Jesus Christ to Bryce Harper in ten steps or less. Stay tuned.

I miss the days of having straightforward trivia questions, like "What player hit the most home runs in a season?"

Oh, wait...
