Another ebay seller that everyone should keep an eye on is harleyman714. I got into a bit of an e-mail pissing match with him over some Old Judge reprints he was auctioning when everyone was at the national. I notified him that they were reprints and gave him the link to the site they were sold at and tons of other info about why they weren't real and he informed me that I was wrong, blah, blah, blah and he played the scammers M.O. to a tee. He's a little less obvious then Eagle8016 in that he doesn't always run private auctions, He did with the one I questioned him on. He puts the cards authenticity up in the air. He claims that he's not a professional card grader and can't tell for sure, although he was pretty darn sure about those Old Judges when I "dared" to question their authenticity. The same people also seem to buy from him a lot as well, probably because...they are him. Anyway the title from my previous post about him is below and I thought everyone should know he floating around.

EBAY today: Old Judge 4 card reprint lot, Buy-it-Now for only 599.00 !!!!

I first want to say I have tremendous respect for most all the regular posters who have relentlessly pursued EBAY to clean the Vintage Card Auctions up and Prohibit SCUM BAGS like EAGLE or BLUEFLY from raping unsuspecting EBAYERS.

As for the ONE SIDED COMMENTS in the main thread post, I TAKE MAJOR OFFENSE. WHY DIDNT WHATEVER HIS NAME IS SAY THAT I "ENDED THE AUCTION" IMMEDIATELY AFTER I WAS TOLD THE OJ WERE `100% RP'S. OR WHY WAS IT NOT SAID THAT MY AUCTIONS CONTAIN THE FOLLOWING STANDARD LANGUAGE ( ITEM 2747703349 )

Recently purchased this LOT OF 2 ungraded 1915 CRACKER JACK CARDS "SHOELESS JOE JACKSON" and "TY COBB" are being offered for auction as reprints, UNLIKE OTHER EBAY CARD SELLERS WHO PREY ON HONEST EBAY VINTAGE CARD COLLECTORS AND REPRESENT CARDS AS AUTHETIC WHEN THEY KNOW DIFFERENT!

YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, I HAVE MY "EAGLE EYE" ON YOU!! THEIF.

OR LANGUAGE LIKE THIS: (Item number: 2747701329)

PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPION BEFORE BIDDING, IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE EMAIL ME, THX AND GOOD LUCK.
Recently purchased as a part of Bankruptcy Liquidation, this 1935 BRONKO NAGURSKI CHICLE #34 is most probably a reprint, AS I DID NOT PAY $5,000 FOR IT, and is being offered for auction today as such.

UNLIKE OTHER EBAY SELLERS WHO REPRESENT CARDS AS AUTHENTIC WHEN THEY KNOW OTHERWISE AND COLLECT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FROM UNSUSPECTING EBAYER'S, I AM OFFERING THIS RARE CARD AS A REPRINT FOR A FRACTION OF THE AUTHENTIC BOOK VALUE, WHEN I AM NOT SURE IT IS? I HAVE TOO MANY CARDS TO SEND IN FOR GRADING, AND I AM A WHOLESALE LIQUIDATOR AND NOT A VINTAGE CARD INVESTOR/COLLECTOR.

GOOD LUCK AND BE CAREFUL WITH OTHER SELLERS UNGRADED CARDS.

WE ARE OFFERRING THIS TODAY WITH NO RESERVE

ADDITIONALLY, I EMAILED AND CALLED SAFE HARBOUR SEVERAL TIMES AND REPORTED THOSE SCUM BAGS.

ANYWAY, ENOUGH SAID, MY HUMBLE THANKS TO THOSE HONEST INDIVIDUALS WHO DO THE RIGHT THING AND DONT POST BIASED BULL****!

I WILL NOT COMMENT AB OUT THE FRISCH REPRINTS VS MINE, AS THAT ONLY FEEDS INTO THE KINDERGARTEN MENTALITY OF YOUR THREAD LEADER FOR EVEN THINKING THE 2 WERE SIMILAR, I AM CONFIDENT HIS CARD COLLECTION LEAVES MUCH TO BE DESIRED.

I NEEDED TO VENT WHEN I READ CRAP LIKE EHATEVER HIS NAME IS POSTED ABOVE.

REGARDS

H714

First of all, Harleyman, You should know that an arguement is always more coherent and effective when you know the name of the person your arguing with, especially when that person's name is on the screen in front of you.

Secondly, I don't care if you take major offense at what I've said or not. If I'm wrong about any of the things I've stated, then I will concede those points, however, I think I have a legitimate arguement regarding your selling activies on ebay and I intend to make my concerns known to other collectors within the hobby.

The facts:

1.) You offered auction # 2743882378, (4 ) 1887 OLD JUDGE N172 BASEBALL CARDS NR! Start Time: Jul-23-03 14:32:44

LINK: http://cgi.aol.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2743882378&category=31719

2.) It was a private auction, which if you frequent this forum, you would know that private auction's are almost always an indication of fraud, shill bidding, or other questionable selling activites.

3.) After seeing this auction I sent you an e-mail on Wednesday, July 23, 2003 7:33 PM, letting you know that these cards were reprints and I told you exactly the reasons why I thought they were not authentic, including the fact that they appeared to be Fritsch reprints.

4.) You replied on 7/24/2003 7:14:34 AM Eastern Daylight Time with e-mail stating the following "thank you, what is their website please, and I am selling as reprints to be safe, thankx again"---I gave you Fritsch's web address.

5.) You then replied on 7/24/2003 10:15:16 PM, "thx, but those look nothing like my cards" --even though they are clearly Fritsch reprints.

6.) I sent you another e-mail on Friday, July 25, 2003 2:35 AM, telling you that whether or not these were Fritsch reprints or not, they were still not authentic in any way. You continued to offer them for sale under the possibility that they "could be" real, that "you never know", even though I gave you all the evidence in the world that they were NOT authentic.

7.) Your response to that on 7/25/2003 2:37:15 AM was: "THANK YOU, MUCH APPRECIATED, THAT’S WHY I AM NOT SELLING AS ORIGINALS, I KNOW W/O GRADING YOU CAN NEVER BE SURE, AND I THANK YOU" However a remotely knowledgeable collector can 9 times out of 10 tell the difference between a clearly reprinted card and an authentic pre-WWII card. You also continued to sell them as if they were reprints, BUT, that they could be real.

AND NOW THE GRAVY....

8.) You didn't pull the auction off early because of the kindness of your heart, your reason is clearly stated on the auction page: "The seller ended this listing early to sell to the high bidder(s) at current bid price." The final price was $96.00.

9.) You provided this description for your auction:

Recently purchased as a part of an estate liquidation, this lot of 4 1887 OLD JUDGE N172 BASEBALL CARDS are most probably reprints and are being offered for auction today as such, however upon close examination of these cards, under 10x magnification I surely can't see the difference., stranger things have happened at estate sales, REMEMBER THE ORIGINAL DECLARATION OF INDEPENDANCE DISCOVERED IN THE BACK OF THE $10 PICTURE FRAME! Eventually sold for over 1 MILLION DOLLARS! SURE Makes YOU THINK TWICE.!!

THIS UNBELIEVABLE LOT OF FOUR (4)1887 OLD JUDGE N172 CARDS (I BELIEVE THATS WHAT THEY ARE)INCLUDE WARD, DUFFEY, KEEFE, and ONE PLAYER I CANNOT IDENTIFY.

WE ARE OFFERRING THIS RARE LOT OF 4 1887 N172 OLD JUDGE CARDS TODAY WITH NO RESERVE!

FREE S/H/I FOR THE FIRST LUCKY HIGH BIDDER TO USE "BUY IT NOW".

THIS MAY BE ONE OF YOUR ONLY CHANCES TO GET A COUPLE OF THESE CARDS WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK.

AGAIN, WITHOUT GRADING VERIFICATION, I MUST OFFER THESE AS REPRINTS, AND AUCTION THEM ON THAT BASIS, YOU BE THE JUDGE.

Good Luck, Check My Feedback and BID WITH CONFIDENCE!!

All sales are final, thanks.

10.) Only at the very end did you state that since they weren't graded by a professional service you had to offer them as reprints even though you made every attempt in your description prior to that sentence to give a potential bidder the illusion that there was a decent chance that these could be the real thing, even after I had told you the many reasons that they could NEVER be authentic. You continued to sell them with that "they could be reprints, but you never can tell" and "under 10x magnification I surely can't see the difference". AND have continued to use that approach on other vintage card auctions after this one.

In closing,
For someone who supports the cause against people like eagle8016 and frequents this board, you seem to have a lot of trouble distinguishing between real and reprinted vintage cards. A collector or seller who's done even a little research can tell the difference between a REAL N172 Old Judge and a Fritsch reprint or a REAL 1933 Goudey and a Dover reprint. If you support this board so much, how is it that you can't tell if your cards are fake, even though threads about detecting fakes and altered vintage cards are posted on here almost daily?

Well, what's your excuse? Error? Ignorance? The fact is your arguement is ridiculous at best. You sir, are an amateur. Your arguement has no evidence in your favor to support it. You may not tell whole lies like eagle8016, but you DO tell half-lies, by feigning ignorance about the authenticity of the cards you sell. By offering them to bidders as "POTENTIALLY AUTHENTIC" then you are engaging in arguably fraudulent behavior. In my opinion, after reading the threads on this board and getting e-mails from people like me telling you that the cards you are selling are 100% fake, there should be no good reason why you can't tell the difference.

P.S.: My card collection may leave something to be desired, but at least my cards are real...fool.

That still doesn't explain the issues concerning your selling activities. I give to charity every holiday season, but that doesn't mean I'm Mother Theresa.

1934 JIMMY FOX #1 GOUDEY REPRO NR! 2747701382

http://cgi.aol.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=31722&item=2747701382

YOUR DESCRIPTION:

Recently purchased as a part of Bankruptcy Liquidation, this 1934 JIMMY FOX #1 GOUDEY is most probably a reprint, AS I DID NOT PAY $5,000 FOR IT, and is being offered for auction today as such.

UNLIKE OTHER EBAY SELLERS WHO REPRESENT CARDS AS AUTHENTIC WHEN THEY KNOW OTHERWISE AND COLLECT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FROM UNSUSPECTING EBAYER'S, I AM OFFERING THIS RARE CARD AS A REPRINT FOR A FRACTION OF THE AUTHENTIC BOOK VALUE, ALTHOUGH I AM NOT POSITIVE IT IS? I HAVE TOO MANY CARDS TO SEND IN FOR GRADING, AND I AM A WHOLESALE LIQUIDATOR AND NOT A VINTAGE CARD INVESTOR/COLLECTOR.

"Is most PROBABLY a reprint?", "I'm not positive that it is?", "Rare card?" Still pretty vague on authenticity.

I've said all I need to.

Adam, sorry for misinterpreting one of your previous posts as indicating that you were harleyman.

Now that we know Harleyman is DrBond, this should be a closed issue - DrBond was actually buying Feldman124 forgeries, then re-selling the them on ebay as real, even using the same exact scans from Feldman's auctions. Now he's abandoned the Feldman reprints and gone to selling "doctored" cards from reprint sets - much, much easier to get away with, as Eagle has shown us.

In essence, DrBond is the biggest cheat I have ever seen on ebay, and this includes Bellyfly, Eagle, and anyone else that has ever disgraced the internet. I can show you some emails from DrBond that will make you cringe. And, yes, I saved ALL correspondence from this weasel.

YOU LITTLE DIRT BAG, I ONLY WISH I HAD 2 MINUTES ALONE WITH YOU. YOU WOULD EAT YOUR WORDS LIKE THE FAGGAT PRISON BITCH YOU PROBABLY ARE. YOU SAY THINGS WITHOUT PROOF AND MAKE ACCUSATIONS THAT SUIT YOUR FAIRY TALES. BUT WHAT YOU WONT DO, IS SAY YOUR SLANDEROUS STATEMENTS TO MY FACE, AS I WOULD RIP YOUR ****ING HEAD OFF AND SHOVE IT UP YOUR BLOATED ASS. IF YOU THINK I AM KIDDING, KEEP IT UP, I JUST MAY KNOCK ON YOUR ****ING FRONT DOOR ONE DAY.

JUST KEEP IT UP, AND YOU WILL BE EATING HAMBURGERS THROUGH A ****ING STRAW, YOU SPINESLESS LOWLIFE WEASEL. I ONLY WISH YOU CONTINUE TO PROVOKE ME, I ONLY WISH!

Wow, Harleyman...or shall I say Dr.Bond, You sure showed us. You just posted a message on a public internet forum and threatened physical violence. Aren't you aware that is illegal and probably a felony? Are you also aware that you have trouble spelling? Are you also aware that even though you posted anonymously, your IP address number under your "ANONYMOUS" name can be traced?

Fool.

Harleyman all you are doing is showing your true colors to all that read the board. I personally would never bid on an auction from anyone that responds in this manner. Plus, Your auction description have more than a bid to be desired, all you are trying to do is hide the fact that you are selling reprints. You biggest guilt is the use of PRIVATE AUCTIONS. I think it's time to try a new ebay name and move on you have buried yourself here way too deep.

Go Soar with the Eagle

I have about 20 emails from this guy, threatening me (in ALL CAPS, of course), and repeated promises that I would hear from his lawyer, who would "squash me like a bug under his boots ".

I have never met one of these guys in person, but my guess is that he is probably about 5'5", a chain smoker, has a wife that weighs about 230, and lives in either a trailer or a shot-gun house with one of those plastic playground sets in his backyard and possibly a permanent swimming pool purchased at Walmart...and a trampoline. Also has a satellite dish, a fridge full of Miller Lite, and a cupboard full of generic mac & cheese. Do you get a diploma with your GED? if so, that would be nailed above the t.v.

Basically, DrBond, if you ever come knocking on my door, I'll just pay for the pizza and say "Thanks".

But to continue, I picture the DrBonds as angry versions of Chevy Chase's cousin(?) in "National Lampoon's Vacation" - the guy who made hamburgers out of hamburger helper and left out the meat.

Dan, tell me you don't do that.
