Well I'll tell ya

Back in the day when I was scouring the counter for signed cards for OTHER people's lists, that had signed 52s to trade, the bill norman was on all the 53 topps lists. You say there is at least one in the pop report?

He will be tough being in the high series and a coach. However, it appears he did at least hang around baseball until his passing in 62. There is a glimmer of hope

Yep, there's one each of Norman and Fusselman, and two each of Bickford and Fox. With all four of them hanging around the game for at least a couple of years after 1953, I think there are more out there that have been buried in collections (or by now, estates) for the past 50-60 years.

Seems like fox was the prolific signer of the bunch! I've had 3 or 4 signed 52s, with only ever seeing one bickford and no fusselmans, though one is graded in the pops.

Hope!

I'm surprised at how few items are triggering my radar with such a large assemblage.

--What an absolutely odd vintage Mays, yet there are some unmistakable individual letter formations, especially the "Wishes".

--I have never seen a Bob Hooper that remotely resembles yours. Nor have I seen a Hooper in blue Sharpie. The fact that it's personalized is the real head scratcher. I'd definitely be looking for another one, but it won't be an easy acquisition.

The Mays, from looking at a couple of contracts in the PSA/DNA database, looks to be from the early 1960s. The Hooper, I'm not enamored with, but I can live with it for now. Blue Sharpies came out in 1979 and he died in March 1980, so done very late in life.
