Default Dear Net 54 and Uncle Jimmy Fans,

Posting for the family of Uncle Jimmy- (and it is an honor of Net54baseball to have the collection publicized here."

"Dear Net 54 and Uncle Jimmy Fans,

As the last Uncle Jimmy auction winds down, I wanted to reach out to all of you on Net 54 on behalf of myself and my 6 brothers and sisters as the nieces and nephews of James Micioni. Your kind words on this blog have been so wonderful to read and we wanted you to know how much they were appreciated. Thank you to everyone who has bid on an auction and has been lucky enough to win a piece of the Uncle Jimmy collection.

Uncle Jimmy was so much more than a baseball card collector, he was a simple, kind, humble man who loved his family fiercely. He would be so happy that his massive collection is spread among so many people across the country and world who can enjoy them as much as he enjoyed collecting them over the years.

A special thank you to PSA who offered the Provence for this special collection, that is something we could never have imagined. I would be remiss if we did not give a huge shout out to Stacey and Chuck from Wheatland Auction Services who has done a fabulous job with each and every auction. They have consistently walked us through this difficult process of sorting, managing and selling this massive collection. Their honestly, integrity and love for the Uncle Jimmy collection is remarkable. We consider them part of the Micioni family now and know that Uncle Jimmy would have loved them both as much as we do.

So good luck to those bidding on this last auction, it certainly is bittersweet for all of us, but we are thrilled that Uncle Jimmy will live for many years. Thanks again, Ellen Micioni Easton and the entire Micioni Family."

What I nice note. It's great to see a collecting story come full circle from the beginnings of what turned out to be an incredible collection, the family members, Wheatland, and the collectors who will carry on Uncle Jimmy's name. Best wishes to all involved.

A very touching note! It's great to know that the community at large, and the collections of many here, benefitted and the family is pleased with the outcome. Great stuff.

Very nice note...sounds like Uncle Jimmy was a well-loved and blessed man. I am honored to have this small piece of his prized collection, and having his name on the label will allow his memory and collecting legacy to live on! RIP Uncle Jimmy, and blessings to the Micioni family!

Great note. I bought a bunch of pieces...notably most of his best 48 Bowmans. They were just so bright and sharp compared to other 48 Bowmans, even though they graded 5-7’s as a whole. And a few signed Goudeys, those were awesome, also brighter than usual with the signatures, too.

UJ sure knew how to store cards!

Thanks for sharing Leon, as this has been a wonderful experience, especially learning and sharing the story of Uncle Jimmy and getting to know and help 2 awesome generations of his family. I often tell younger business professionals that "the day you realize you have a lot to learn is the day you start learning a lot". For me, one of the biggest lessons learned through this process has been the magic of getting to understand the collector behind the collection. I was able to help collectors with a handful of new consignments this weekend, and the stories behind most of the collections were inspiring - so I found myself trying to learn more about the person behind each collection (sometimes a parent or family member of the consignor): the dad who searched for high-condition Mantle single signed baseballs, the daughter who shared the story of her mom putting together sets from the 1950s, the life-long Jeter fan who is selling his Jeter collection to help his family, the collector's wife who invested in a few high-graded Jordan rookies, and a retired collector who shared the story of buying his sets from the old neighborhood collector when he was a kid ...

... and to those of you who will be bidding in the Final Uncle Jimmy Auction tonight - GOOD LUCK and BID LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT! Let's keep breaking new records in our industry so each of your collections is worth more!!!! https://www.wheatlandauctionservices.com/catalog.aspx
