Default November Pickups

Just got this in the mail from a board member. Super psyched about it. Looks like he probably addressed and placed the stamp himself!

Well, now I'm doing more research and it appears this could be a "wife" signature. Either way wasn't very expensive but..

From a card show this weekend. Got 1980 and 1981 Topps complete sets for my run I've expanded past 1975 now, and 3 of my vintage needs as my want list shrinks

Down to 4 needed for my 52 Topps set with the addition of Bob Cain.
Also grabbed a wanted black back of Luke Easter with decent/nice centering, which is tough with this card.

Got a really nice '71 Upgrade. No idea how this isn't a 9. Would be a 10 without the print dot in my opinion

Nice, one more Bob and then three that will hurt the pocketbook.

Been looking for a centered, no-tilt copy for quite a while and this one fit the bill nicely. Down to needing 2 cards for my 1967 set. The search continues ...

Nice. The high numbers in that set are an absolute b*tch. I need a lot more than 2 cards, but thankfully I have already put the big boys to bed.

Nice p/u Dale, it displays nicely for the grade. Best of luck of the last 4!

Been picking up some cards from players on the outside of the Hall of Fame looking in. Few, if any, will ever get elected to the HOF.
Unfortunately, many of their rookie cards are multi-player cards, so I picked up some second year as well.
Relatively inexpensive group.

Never say never. I think we will be surprised in the next 10-15 years, especially with some like Allen, Murphy, and Whitaker. Nobody thought Gil Hodges or Minnie Minoso would get in either 20 years ago. Allen in particular is starting to smack of hypocrisy if you look at his numbers, especially OPS in the time he played compared to everyone else. I've always thought the media has just punished him forever because they hated him when he was a player.

Yeah, I think Allen is the surest bet of the bunch, as he only missed by 1 vote last year.

But they haven't given Whitaker a second chance through a Committee yet. Hopefully that changes.

Very excited to add this one! It's a bit OC but I think has great eye appeal for a "4".

Great card! I don't have a problem with OC cards. That's just how it was cut at the factory for the kids in '56. No intentional damage or anything like that. Congrats on the pick up!

Thanks...very excited to to add the Mays. And I agree on OC cards...sure, perfect centering is great, but this is a much nicer looking PSA 4 in my opinion than one that's better centered but with dog-eared corners.

Great looking Carew RC!
I'd been looking for a long time for a centered copy as well and just found a PSA 7 too.
Congrats!

I picked up this great 1958 Willie Mays, which I've been hunting for months. Finally found the right card that checked off all the boxes.

Sean, that is my kind of card. 58 Mays is so tough to find with the combination of centering, registration and strong color. Really nice!

Just got this nice 1 Jackie to go with my 1 Satchel from the same set. I would probably rank 53 Topps just behind 52 Bowman as the most beautiful postwar sets ever made.

It's been a slow month, but I was happy to add this one from a net54 member.

Looks fantastic. Much better than the copy of this card with "clouds" (erasure? paper loss?) that a dealer tried to convince me was part of the card when I was about 12, many moons ago...

I didn't really have any Satchel Paige cards or other items in my collection, but I couldn't pass up this very affordable pencil clip. Not very rare (if it's even a legit Paige clip), but seemed pretty cool to me.

An upgraded 52 Topps Bob Kelly arrived yesterday to replace the recently purchased rough copy I just acquired last month.
Anyone interested in the rough copy, please let me know with an offer.

I think that card of Ted, 1941 - How Ted Hit .400, is my favorite of all cards of him. I don't have the set, just that one card. Awesome!
