Default My new custom display case

Just wanted to show everyone my new/old display case. I refurbished a vertical rotating display case. Photos of the original are below. I also made a short video of the result which is below as well.

The original

Video of the new

So does anyone else have any custom cases they made or refurbished to show off? I love seeing these items to give me more ideas.

You only have a problem if someone wants to shoot a game of pool.

Thanks Jonathan,
The R301 Overland Candy is signed by Eleanor. I won it in the Uncle Jimmy auctions a couple summers ago. It's trimmed, but was a reasonably priced example for the collection.

Fantastic display and great collection. Looks awesome.

The 1936 Sports Stamp and 1921-31 ML Die-Cut really caught my eye. And that Overland wrapper is unbelievable as well. Out of curiosity, what is the card on the end of the top row next to the W565? Can't really make it out from the image.

Beautiful display. And a great tribute to the Iron Horse, with nary a slab visible.

Nice work! But what about all the items on the table that wouldn’t fit? Is it already time for another display tower?

The small card on the end is from the 1948 Topps Magic Photo R714-27 set. Lou is card #14K

Thank You Mark.
Yep. All those cards were purchased by me back in the 1980s before slabbing existed. The few that I do have slabbed were purchased that way(and I worry about damaging the card removing them, so I didn't).
A friend of mine said the same thing. Those towers are kind of hard to find. Took me a while to find it, but I would consider doing a second. Had a few hiccups along the way, but the second one would be way easier I think, now that I know what I am doing....sort of.

Thanks, that is so cool. That is one fantastic, and eclectic, Gehrig collection. And three of those Gehrig items I mentioned (the Sports Stamp, ML Die-Cut, and W565) are all on my own personal want list, so definitely jealous. LOL

And that rotating tower is unreal. Reminds me of years ago buying a clear plastic and metal, rotating display case I found in a local department store that had closed, and was in the final process of selling off the remaining furnishings and fixtures. It was one of those countertop displays that held jewelry or cosmetics in the ladies department. And the clear plastic shelves in it were perfect for displaying slabbed or raw cards. But it is nowhere near the size and grandeur of your tower. Great job!

Thanks again. The tower took a little bit to find, but keep searching and I am sure you will eventually find one. I found mine on Facebook marketplace.
I find that I use a lot of difference displays styles. This is a shadow box, I am using for snapshot display.

Amazing! Name the price. When I win powerball I will take the entire display.

So much great stuff. One thing that caught my eye was the Lou picture with the bow tie. Love that.

Awesome collection.
