Default the challenge

Posted By: tim Mayer

can someone explain how the challenge system works in an auction. I lost a lot in tonights auction. The email says I was challenged and lost the lot...

" Your bid has been challenged by another bidder and you have lost the bid'

The email came @ 3:30 in the morning, and no one else had bid on this item at all during the last couple of days of the auction. I assume someone had bid during the 15 minute rule or whatever it is and beat me,,,my question is when does the auction actually end? In these type of auctions the 15 minute rule applies to everyone not just whomever is bidding against you in your item? Any help is appreciated, as I am unsure how I could have won this lot unless I put a ceiling bid on it , but I didn't think I needed to , as I thought the auction was over being it was 3:30 in the morning, and no one else ha bid on my item during the day...

thanks for the help,,,I am sure the answer is obvious forgive me.,,,
