Nolan Ryan had the most regular issue cards (counting shared rookie card) with 27 and Sandy Koufax had the fewest (Topps rookie card) with 12.

Which HoFers had the 2nd most and 2nd least?

Hint there is a tie for 2nd fewest.

Pete Rose had 25; he must be 2nd most. I think you need to quantify the 2nd least guy (Babe Ruth had none; Stan Musial played pre and during Topps era, for example). If you are asking for the 2nd least out of guys that played exclusively in the Topps era, I would guess Bruce Sutter (I think he had 13, 1977-1989)

Sutter is correct.

Puckett had 12 like Koufax, I failed to mention him earlier. Another HoFer had 13 base cards.

I think that would be the 1955 Dodgers: Koufax, Jackie Robinson, Duke Snider, Pee Wee Reese, Roy Camapanella, 1955 Yanks also had 5, Berra, Mantle, Slaughter, Rizzuto, and Whitey Ford.

I'm not completely sure I understand the question. I'm assuming you're limiting it to the Topps era. The 1962-1966 Giants had 5 HOFers each year, all with Topps cards for the Giants (if you excuse the '63 Perry multi-rookie card): Mays, Cepeda, McCovey, Marichal and Perry. The '71 Cubs had 5 Topps: Williams, Banks, Santo, Jenkins and Wilhelm, even though Hoyt never pitched for them that year.

I stand corrected. Henderson, Niekro, and Yaz had 24 Topps base cards.

Topps era only, and must have had a card produced otherwise it would be the 56 Dodgers with 6 players.

You are correct, for the teams you listed.

Actually Al, I always get that one wrong.

If you want to get technical, the '64 Braves have 5 players with cards who are in the HOF, although Joe Torre went in as a manager (Spahn, Mathews, Niekro and Aaron). Same for the '67 Cardinals with McCarver in as a broadcaster (Gibson, Carlton, Brock and Cepeda).

Seems like there should be a more modern qualifier than those already listed, and BTW, the '65 Giants also had 6 HOFers--Warren Spahn pitched for them that year although his card had him on the Mets.

I find it interesting that the 1980 Padres had 4. Usually we think of winning teams having multiple HoFers.

The 1974 Red Sox had 5 if you allow for Juan Marichal's traded card--Juan, Yaz, Fisk, Aparicio and Cepeda. Strangely, the last two did not play for Boston in 1974--Aparicio retired and Cepeda lingered on for a final season in KC. Given that Fisk was hurt much of the year and Marichal didn't join the team until the last quarter of the season, it's hard to consider this a HOF-laden team and easy to see how they finished under .500.
