Does anyone know the reason why the Anson (uniform) is so rare? Why was it only issued in 1888? How many are in private hands? I have heard anywhere from 3 to 6. |

There are no known "real" Cap Anson jerseys in the industry |

Thats great info Josh but i think he was referring to Old Judge Anson cards picturing him in uniform as opposed to ones showing him in street clothes |

I am sorry for any confusion. I am referring to the Old Judge Anson uniform card versus the "street clothes" version. |

Josh 1900 is part of the 19th century. The 20th century didn't start until 1901. Just like the new millenium didn't start until 2001, contrary too all the celibrating that went on in 2000. |

I am glad it took a mistake (thinking you were talking about the jerseys not the card) to get this out into the open |

I have heard about the fake uniforms in the Halper auction. What is the entire story behind that? How many were fake? Any idea where Halper got them from? |

It is common knowledge that many of them came from Pug Winkler out of California |

Are they old jerseys for which fake provenance was created? Or were they recently manufactured, then aged? I think you meant the latter, but I still would like more info - it would be good to know what to look out for when buying old jerseys. |

I wonder what kind of provenance was supplied for each uniform? (e.g: "bought directly from family", "bought from mysterious person who was close friend of family - they prefer to avoid publicity so will remain anonymous"). |
