Default 1921-22 Wahpeton-Breckenridge Twins team photo with Major Leaguer Roy Patterson

Posted By: Sean BH

**Found out a little bit and added a nice large scan.**

Picked this up on eBay a week or so ago, got it for a really good price I thought...$8.

It's the Wahpeton-Breckenridge Twins team from the Dakota League (http://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Dakota_League) that was only in operation from 1921 - 1922. Does anyone know any other information about it? The whole mount measures about 14" X 13"...and on the bottom row three in from the left appears to be a member of the Honus Wagner family? Seriously.

Also from what I could find they were managed by major leaguer Roy Patterson (http://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Roy_Patterson) who played for the Chicago White Sox (1900 - 1907) and had a few cards produced (e107). Can anyone find him in the photo? I'm thinking the first row, fourth from the right.

Thanks,
Sean

With some help from David today I was able to get a little more information and now I have a much better scan. Anyone know if Roy Patterson is here? Any did Wagner's nephew play ball in the Dakota League?

Thanks,
Sean

Yep! I'm pretty certain that Patterson is sitting 5th from left, 4th from right in the front row. He was the manager of the WB team in both years of their existence.

Nice score...especially at that price.

No Wagner nephew that I know of played any baseball. Both of Honus's brothers played minor league ball.

Here's a postcard I have that was sent to Luke by a player on the Nebraska Indians team.
