Default Size variations in 1941 Play Ball?

I remember reading a thread a while back discussing minor variations of the "official dimensions" of '30s cards like Diamond Stars and Goudey. Having just started collecting the 1941 Play Ball set, I'm wondering if variations are normal here, too. A couple of my cards fall short of book measurements, but don't to my (admittedly untrained) eye appear to be trimmed.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It took me 3 years or so to finish my 1940 pb set. I contacted both SGC and PSA in this time as I got a dimaggio that was short. They both said the same thing that they allow 1/32" to be short as a factory variance (w/o any evidence of trim) and my dimaggio was 1/16"-3/32" short and they both questioned it (never sent it in). I havent found the 1940s to be short, in my experience and that was nearly finishing 2 sets, but this is also a different issue.
