Although I don't want to judge the authenticity of the card (I'm in no way saying its fake - I just don't know) The ad'backed Cracker Jacks were cut from a poster/advertising sheet.

Hello,

Just curious -- is the poster that this card was cut from a period piece? i.e., was it a ca. 1914 advertisement for the actual CJ card set? I get the impression that it is, but who knows?

Does anyone have one of the whole ads? I'd love to see one.

Thanks!

mm

I understand that one person's trash is another person's treasure BUT....

How is this item any different from the AAA or NASA graded cut outs?

It reminds me of the N28 cut outs from the albums. I guess if it is a true period piece then it could be an inexpensive alternative to the real deal. I just think it's wrong to say THIS CARD HAS THE ULTRA-RARE ADVERTISING BACK.

These are not that rare and not worth near what an actual CJ card would be. They are like the E95 "proofs" that are actually cutouts from notebook covers. Seller seems to be adding a lot of hype to me. I would be interested in knowing the basis for calling 1914 as opposed to 1915.

paper thin; this one appears to be cut out of thick cardboard.

All ads are not creasted equal; remember the Boston Garter ad from a few weeks ago--though that was more expensive than it should have been.

wouldn't it make sense that the cut out should be from 1914 ?...

why broadcast something 2 yrs late into it when you are trying to sell cracker jacks?

guess we can probe on stuff that is clueless , eh?

This card was from the Feb 2005 Huggins and Scott auction. Lot 116 and was described as 1914 or 1915. Went for around $700.
