Steve- that is one nice E90-3. Did it at least grade a 50 (do I hear 60?).

Thanks, guys. It's a PSA 4. I typically don't buy cards graded that high - I'm a true armpit collector - but I like Wildfire and the price didn't seem too bad. The grade's probably accurate since there's a tiny vertical wrinkle in the lower right that runs roughly parallel to the border, but I think it looks nicer than the prototypical VG-EX card.

I bust most of my stuff out, but I'll probably keep this one graded, as it was a bit above my liberate/keep-slabbed cost threshhold. That said, I've been mulling over switching my handful of PSA cards to SGC for some time now. I'm pretty confident this one would still be a 50 with the ostensibly fine folks of Parsippany.

Sure looks like an SGC 50 to me- but you can never figure out the mysteries of the grading process.

It's a Piedmont 150 if anyone is tracking the backs. Color is much nicer than the scan shows.

This N566 Newsboy cabinet just arrived today, from a Net54 lurker, after a long search. The only other one I have ever seen belongs to Net54 member David Smith. I've got 10 ot the possible 14 subjects now. I'm still looking for Tiernan, Fuller & Meekin + Ward (arms folded).

The group of ten may be viewed here if you are interested:

http://homepage.mac.com/thurber51/19th_Century/PhotoAlbum76.html

Murphy was 5'3 and nicknamed after his college alma mater. He played mainly (and fittingly) shortstop during a career of 130 games for the New York (ironically) Giants 1894-97. He died in 1906 at age 36.

My April additions. A few more to add to the E95 set, and E96, and a couple more T206's(not shown)

Congratulations Bruce on obtaining your Yale Murphy Newsboy cabinet. I can now stop feeling guilty about not selling you mine.

Plus, I think yours is in better condition than mine.

Not necessarily from April, but a few recent pick ups that I hadn't had time to scan and post yet.

BTW nice E's Dylan. I'm not a set collector but have been toying with the idea of picking up a few here and there to complete either the E95's or E96's. Seeing your scans set out together makes a good case for trying it.

Dylan- Either someone got creative with your E95 Lord or you have a one of a kind variation, Lord with team name on chest. It's funny because Pete had an SGC graded E95 Doyle for sale until I tipped him about it. It had the team name ("NY")brilliantly added on the jersey. Next time anyone says PSA is dumb for all the mistakes they make, someone needs to realize all the card graders make dumb mistakes from time to time, even SGC.

Yeah Tbob I think someone used their artistic skill to create that. I actually think it looks pretty cool and it obviously took sometime to do but it wont be slabbed by sgc anytime soon.

Nip Winters! I'd compare him to Dizzy Dean in that he didn't have the longest career, but he shone brightly when he was on his game. Arguably the best Negro League lefty of the 1920's. Thanks to a board member for holding this one for me. I'm glad I could finally snag it from him.

A button off of Jimmie's rookie Jersey. patent date on the back basically coincides with first season. Shortly before his first year.

Very nice overprint back, those are awesome! Picked up this Unc series which i think is much nicer then the grade. Also picked up a t206 with the normal old mill back that i needed, and for cheap. Also grabbed a Jennings "two hands" and a Hofman that arent loading. I didnt need those two for my type set but I really like both of the poses and the bold red background color of the Hofman.

Nice Pickup Steve M....and a very good day to be born. Not only does she share her birthday with me, but also with Alexander Joy Cartwright and Cap Anson.

I picked up this 1921 Fritz Coumbe real photo postcard which I guess nobody has ever seen before???
