Default 2014 USA World Cup Disappointment

This guy shoulda made the team. Especially during this transition when the team is going younger...having a veteran presence during the highest level of competition would have reaped HUGE benefits in teaching the younger players for the next World Cup. Perhaps they'll bring him on if someone else ends up getting hurt.

Very interesting, veteran leadership is key in any sport and business.
Best ever U.S. soccer player by the numbers. Very disappointing to U.S.
soccer fans.

I don't know enough about soccer to speak with any authority but the decision did surprise me. When I think of mens soccer I think of Donovan. I wonder if it was a personal decision?

It should be about having the best chance to win, not paying tribute to past legends.

I have to assume Klinsmann wants to win and he feels leaving Donovan off the team gives them the best chance. That being said, I was surprised by the decision.
