Default 1927 Werts Postcards????

Gentlemen:

I recently acquired some 1920 letters and one stuck out to me. See below.

In the letter the Werts Novelty Company of Muncie Indiana is talking about baseball player postcards they sell. They say these are sold through Post Card machines similar to those for what sounds to me like Exhibit cards.

Is anyone familiar with these Werts Postcards? A quick Google search turns up nothing but Don Wert Topps cards!

Any help appreciated

Could they be exhibits? Sorry didn’t see you mention them. That’s my best guess.

Some 1920s "exhibit" cards are marked "Not for use in exhibit machines." Could these be the product Werts was talking about?

Dennis:

Don't think they are Exhibits. If you read the P.S. in the letter they say:

"they are practically the same as you buy from penny arcade machines..."

THOSE would be Exhibits.

Exhibits AFAIK ALL came out of ESCO in Chicago not Muncie Indiana.
