Default A GIGANTIC THANK YOU

Posted By: Elliot

As most of you know, I collect the C56 hockey set. It is the first hockey set, issued in 1910-11. Cards are similiar to the t206 cards. Anyway, I needed 7 commons (not that common, actually, as the cards are hard to find) to complete the set. Imagine my surprise when I received a phone call from a dealer telling me that he was shipping out to me the 7 cards that I needed. Apparently, a number of posters and lurkers from the board got together and decided to get me a farewell present after my time as moderator. Not sure, if they were just thankful to see me go.

I just wanted to thank everybody who contributed for the thoughtful, generous and unnecessary present. It was a blast being moderator of the board, and I certainly didn't expect to receive anything for something that I enjoyed. I think this just goes to show what a wonderful community we have.

thanks again

Elliot

P.S. A special thanks to Lee Behrens for organizing things.

MastroNet should hire Lee to gather consignments. After 15 minutes of his begging andd crying, you empty your wallet in the hope that he will shut up.

(That was a joke)

It is well deserved, Elliot. Now you can concentrate on baseball cards.

Thanks to Lee and the dealer in question for their help, too.

Enjoy E... Congrats on "icing" the C56 Imperial Tobacco Hockey Set!

Now you can begin putting together the Cabinet type set we have been discussing....

Eliot...

Congratulations on such a great accomplishment and kudos to the board members who helped make it happen!

Would love to see a few scans of the key cards from the set over in the non-baseball forum.. it could use a little activity!

Scott

Those are of course MY cards--I think only the Lester Patruick is up to Elliot's standards! (I hope it is). The rest are lower-grade.
